Loved sharing the stage with @zillaevents @officiantjimmie @lovebug_pictures — can’t wait to work with these creatives this year! What did we learn at tonight’s @weddingfestpdx discussion on how to make your elopement special?!! Ultimately that your elopement can be as unique as you! Couples go all out to find the different pieces of them like their wedding rings, wedding attire, etc. but sometimes when it comes to planning their own wedding, it seems like friends and family always have a little more to say about what they can and can’t do or who one should invite and the list goes on. Once you’ve made the decision to elope, then you can throw much of the traditions out the window (or keep them too if you’d like)! The cool thing now however is that because you’re eloping, the day really revolves around you and your partner and whatever anyone has to say about it just doesn’t matter! Of course a union will always include family and friends but they don’t need to be present on your special day. There are so many ways to share your day with them digitally during or after it has already happened! AND as I mentioned, you don’t have to get rid of all traditions; you can still have your cake and eat it too (literally)! Exchange rings and vows, do a unity ceremony, have your first dance, and cake - make a day or a weekend out of it!
