So I started rp-ing on Twitter a few days ago as werewolf!Ben, but I can’t be rough and tough so my Ben is basically an au of Clyde, soft and cuddly but will bite if you ask nicely. Think Omega Ben and Werewolf Clyde in one person. -🐺
I respect this - Ben himself is his own form of soft, distinct and separate from Clyde. In my head, softness is a spectrum that extends in much more of a huge arc than being a harsh person does, because harshness comes out in these pained ways
Softness is so much more refined in the way it exists, and there’s so much to explore with it. Soft people can be cruel, and bitter, and strange. Or warm and open and gorgeous, and it’s...
It’s lovely, and I’m really excited to see where you take it! Feel free to message me a link so I can RP with you :3
could you please make an aesthetic for a werewolf ben? been reading @benhardyisdaddy's Howl and it's very 👌
Yessss! I loved getting to do this just as much as I loved reading the fic. I’ll link it for anyone interested in Ben Hardy being a mysterious boi who I imagine is a beast in the sheets too ;) It’s by @benhardyisdaddy and it’s ‘Howl’.

You’re running in a dark forest. You can’t see where you’re going. The only light source is the full moon high in the sky. You’re gasping for breath as you hear running behind you. It’s getting closer and closer. You can practically feel them breathing down your neck. You don’t dare turn around to face them, but something inside of you tells you to do exactly that. You stop and swing yourself around. The wolf like creature is staring right at you. At first, you feel peaceful as you stare into its eyes. It almost looked apologetic. You let your guard down for one moment and suddenly it’s lunging at you. You feel it’s claws swipe at your skin as you wake up and gasp for air.
You stare at the ceiling and are panting fast. You place your hand on your heart and take in a deep breath to calm your racing heart. It was just a dream, it was just a dream. You close your eyes and suddenly recall what happened last night. You saw- He was- You fainted. You shake your head and try to tell yourself it was a dream as well. The pain medicine you were taking had given you very vivid dreams. That’s all. You start to agree with yourself, when you suddenly hear voices coming from your kitchen. Pots and pans were being moved around and you freeze. Your eyes snap open as you stare at your closed bedroom door. You looked over frantically to your phone and go to reach for it, but suddenly there’s a light knock at your door. You freeze and don’t move. The handle wiggles until suddenly the door slowly creaked open. You watch as Joe’s head looks in.
He notices that you’re awake and his facial expressions turn soft. He opens the door wider and you see he’s holding a cup of coffee in his hand. He almost sadly smiles to you as he walks over slowly.
“Hey,” he whispers. “How are you feeling?”
You yawn to yourself and shrug as you attempt to sit up straight. Your leg throbbed and you wince.
“Leg’s kinda bothering me, but I’m fine. Just exhausted.”
Joe nods and sits down on the side of the bed. He hands you the cup of coffee, which you gladly take. You slowly sip the scolding drink and sigh in relief. This is what you needed. You look up to Joe and he looks lost in his own train of thought.
“Joe?” you ask.
He looks to you fast, but his face doesn’t change. He looks worried.
“We wanted to tell you for so long. We just didn’t know how.” he says fast, his eyebrows crinkling.
You furrow your brows and shake your head, half laughing.
“What are you talking about? Tell me what?” you ask, taking another sip.
“What do you mean what? About everything that happened last night. About what you saw… What you saw Ben do.”
You almost choke on your coffee. Last night. Ben. Wolf. You thought that was a dream. You thought your doped up mind had taken you off into a weird la la land. You didn’t think it actually happened. It couldn’t have actually happened. That was impossible.
“Joe, last night I was high on pain pills. I was hurting pretty bad and I was just hallucinating. You don’t have to play along and if I acted crazy, I’m sorry. You know how I get when I’m on NyQuil, so you can imagine stronger stuff.”
You try to get him to laugh, but it doesn’t work. He just looks at you sad and says nothing, which worried you. Joe always had a witty, sarcastic comeback for everything and every situation, no matter what. But right now, he didn't. And that’s what worried you.
“Joe…” you say, in hopes he’d finally burst into laughter and tell you it was all a joke.
“Y/n, I- I don’t know what to say. I wanted to tell you so bad, but it goes against our rules. We all wanted to tell you. Gwil was the hardest to keep his mouth shut. I just-”
“You all? What are you talking about? Nothing I saw last night was real, Joe!” you shout, as you start getting almost scared. “It was a figment of my imagination and I was just seeing shit!”
Suddenly, there’s another light knock at your door. Both of your heads turn fast to stare at it. The door opens up once more and in walks Ben. He’s shirtless with just jeans on. There’s a bruise under his ribs and a painful bite mark on his upper left arm. His eyes lock with yours and he lightly smiles.
“Joe’s not lying.” is all he says.
Your heart drops as you continue to look at him.
“Everything you saw last night was real. Everything you experienced was real. If you need more proof, I can show you.”
You were speechless. What do you exactly say to this? You weren’t sure.
“You need to listen to us though,” starts Ben, suddenly getting serious. “You’re not safe-”
“Ben!” yells Joe as he jumps up from the bed. He strides over to him and looks pissed off. Ben looks to him, then to you, then back to him.
“What?” you half whisper, shocked.
“She deserves to know.” he harshly whispers to him.
“No! That’s enough.” he hisses.
Ben looks angry as he looks back up to you. You were so confused. You’re not safe? What exactly did that mean? Why would he say that? You shake your head and look down at your hands. Ben rolls his eyes at Joe and drops what he was saying before.
“If you’re gonna be apart of this now, there needs to be no more shocking details. You gotta know everything. You weren’t supposed to find out yet, but it doesn’t matter. You do. So…”
And with that, Ben closes his eyes and before you even know it, the largest wolf-type animal you had ever seen was in front of you. It was so large that it took up the majority of your master bedroom. You gasp at its presence and Joe rushes over to you.
“Dammit, Ben!” he yells angry. “Not fucking here!” he shouts, wrapping his arm around your shoulders.
You can’t break your eyes away from it. The wolf was the same exact color as Ben’s golden hair. The features of the creatures face almost matched Ben’s as well. The eyes especially. Right now, they are expressive and green just like his. You can see so much emotion in them, almost as if you know exactly what he’s thinking. He’s staring at you and you can’t look away. You can’t believe what had just happened. You were still dreaming, right? Unlike last night, you didn’t feel the urge to pass out. It was as if the initial shock was over and you were now just… Curious? You can’t look away from him as you pull the covers off of you. Joe looks down and watches you, almost unsure what you’re doing. You slowly sit up straighter and pause.
“Ben?” you whisper, almost needing reassurance that it really is him.
The animals takes a step forward and raises its neck slightly, almost as if signaling a yes to you. You feel tears sting your eyes and you’re not sure why. This overwhelming feeling of almost sadness hits you. You were amazed and emotional. Nothing like this had ever crossed your mind. You had grown up watching and reading books based off of stories like these, but actually living in one? Never for a second crossed your mind. You slowly hang your legs off of the bed and ignore the pain. You stare at him as you slowly stand up. Your legs feel like jelly as they go out from under you. Joe isn’t fast enough to catch you, but you don’t fall. It happens too fast. You look down at your hand and it’s leaning against the creatures body. Ben had rushed up to you in an instant to help you. Joe almost gasps when he realizes that you’re touching him.
“Y/n, wait! That’s not a good idea! He could-”
But you ignore him. The creature was on all fours and he was eye to eye with you. That’s how large he is. You let go of him and look at all of the fur covering him. It was beautiful and soft. You look back in his green eyes and your heart almost melts. His pupils were dilated, giving him what you call the puppy dog effect. You catch yourself lifting your hands and bringing them slowly up to his face. His snout huffs, but you ignore him.
“Y/n…” warns Joe, trying to get you to not do what you’re about to do.
You bring your hands up to his face and pause. You look at him once more, asking if you could. You notice a glint in his eyes and you realize he’s telling you yes. You stare at your hands as they slowly reach forward and touch him. He’s warm and soft. The moment your hands touch his face, his body almost relaxes. He closes his eyes for a split second at your touch. You glide them through his soft fur and run them over his ears. Ben nuzzles his head into your hand and you smile. You glide your hand over over his snout and slowly down his neck. You were amazed and stunned. You can’t believe you were doing this. You look back in Ben’s eyes and you freeze. A certain softness was there and it made your whole body flutter. You stared at him for a moment too long and suddenly drop your hands. You look down and take a step back, Joe reaching out to help you. You felt almost embarrassed. Touching Ben while he was in that state was almost intimate for the both of you. That was his most vulnerable state and you got to see him in it. You got to touch him while in it. Your cheeks flushed as Joe’s arm went around you once more. Ben backs away and just like before, is suddenly standing on his two feet.
The two of you continue to stare at each other. You felt something. Something good. A certain spark between the two of you that you try to ignore. Joe looks down to you then to Ben.
“I think that’s enough for today.” he says, still slightly upset. “You need to rest.” he says, looking at you.
“Joe, I’m fine. My leg does feel a lot better.”
“You still need to rest. We’ve thrown a lot at you for one day.” he hisses as he glares over at Ben.
You look back to him and slightly smile. You turn towards the bed and slide back under your covers. Joe sits your coffee on your bedside table and kisses your forehead.
“I’m gonna be here all day, okay? I’m just gonna go make us some breakfast. I’ll check on you.” he says.
You smile and tell him okay. He smiles and walks past Ben, giving him a certain look before exiting the room. Ben looks to you and smiles before turning around walking towards the door. He suddenly stops and turns around fast to face you.
“Do you wanna maybe grab coffee one day?” he asks. “That way I can really explain everything to you.” he says fast.
You’re taken back by his question and smile.
“I’d really like that.”
He nods his head and looks pleased with himself.
“Then it’s a date.” he says, before walking out.
You’re sat there with the cheesiest smile on your face, still staring at the door.

The twinkling of the stars above you made you stop and stare. They were high in the sky and gleaming all around, causing your eyes to stare in amazement. Darkness surrounded you, besides one street lamp down the road that illuminated a tiny portion of your street. A warm breeze rustles through your hair as crickets chirp all around, being the only form of noise you can overhear. You continue gazing at the stars as you stroll towards your house in front of you. You silently thank yourself for moving to an area with no neighbors for a few miles away. Complete solitary, just how you adore it. Nobody telling you to turn your music down, no having to make small talk to people you barely know. It was an actual dream come true. The only downfall, in your opinion, are the sinister woods to the left of your new home. An almost eerie like shadow lingers over it, as if reminding you to never enter inside. And you understand, loud and clear.
You continue staring up to the glistening sky as you start on your front porches steps. You finally break your eyes away and look to your bright red front door, reaching for the outside lock. You fumble in your pocket and finally retrieve your keys. As you slip the key inside the lock, before you can fully unlock, a loud rustling noise in the woods makes you fling yourself around to stare. Your eyes dart around in the darkness as you watch for any signs of movement. Your heart begins racing at an ungodly speed and every hair on your body stands up in horror. You hold your breath and once more turn around and hurriedly unlock the door. You scramble inside and slam the door close, eliciting a loud BANG throughout the empty house. You quickly try to find the lock in the pitch dark and click it locked. You reach over and blindly move your hands on the wall next to the door in search of the light switch. After several seconds, you finally find it and flip it on. The foyer illuminates brightly and you finally let out a breath you had been holding. You look to the door once more and lock the deadbolt.
The noise you heard outside had to have been a wild animal making its nighttime rounds. It was probably a squirrel or rabbit that were rustling the leaves. You keep repeating this to yourself in an effort to calm down your wired nerves. As much as you love being far away from civilization, it also has its downfalls. Like being completely alone and nobody will hear you scream if you need help. You quickly shut your eyes and shake that horrible thought from your mind. Of course this is where your mind takes you when you’re terrified. It wants to jump to the most horrendous possible case scenarios, as if that helps you in any way. You lean away from your front door and place your purse on the table near the wall. You slide off your burgundy cardigan and drape it on your coat rack.
You stroll into your kitchen and flick the lights on once more. You peer around and spot your fat, orange tabby cat on one of your kitchen island chairs. He peeks up to you and watches as you stroll over to him. You softly scratch his ears as he purrs loudly, letting you know to keep going. You smile to him and scratch once more before standing up straight.
“What do we want for dinner, Tiger?” you ask him as you open up your refrigerator.
You place your lip between your teeth as you look up and down the shelves, in search of something to put this harsh growling in your stomach to rest. The only items you see are an old box of Chinese food, a bottle of now flat Pepsi and a full bottle of ketchup. You let out an annoyed huff and shut the door quickly. You really need to go grocery shopping, but being in college and having a part time job was putting a dent in your wallet. You had tried to convince your parents that you could manage living on your own, even though they fought and fought with you on the topic.
“Why don’t you just live with us while you attend college?” your mom asks as she’s sat in a salon chair, with tin foil in her hair.
You’re sat across the room in another chair, a magazine in your hand. You let out a breath and roll your eyes for the millionth time that day.
“Because mom, I’m an adult and would like to do just a few adult things on my own.”
She purses her lips and you can tell she won’t let this go.
“You can save so much money if you live with us. You won’t have to pay for rent, or groceries, or your car payment!”
You drop the magazine in your lap and look up to her quickly.
“Mom, I don’t need you and dad to pay for every little thing for me. I want to do this for myself. I promise I’ll be okay.”
You’re snapped from that memory when your stomach suddenly rumbles. You had told your parents you could do this on your own, so you’ll be damned if you allow them to find out that you can barely afford your own groceries. You wanted this, so you’ll deal with it. You reach your hand to the back pocket of your jeans and slide out your cell phone. You unlock it and scroll through your contact list, in search of the Chinese restaurant you love. As you’re searching, you hear a low, faint growl. You snap your head over to look at Tiger, but he was no longer on your island chair. You walk back over to the chair and look around confused. You finally hear the noise once more and you look up to your sliding glass door, that leads to your backyard. Tiger is stood in front of it as every orange hair on his body is stood straight up. His back is arched as he stares intensely out the window. You freeze and gaze out the window, trying to find what it is he sees.
Tiger suddenly loudly meows, as if to warn something to not come any closer. You take a step back, still looking out the window. This was the first time you had ever seen your cat act like this and you were definitely not a fan.
“Tiger?” you whisper out to him.
Just then, you see movement outside. You clutch your phone tightly as your eyes open wide in fear. A large, dark figure darts in your your backyard. Your voice is caught in your throat, which might be a good thing, seeing as you would be screaming for your life. Whatever was in your yard, it was giant and it was peering inside at you. You gasp suddenly when two large, giant yellow eyes stare directly at you. As if on cue, Tiger suddenly lets out a loud, angry hiss and you finally find your voice as you scream. The yellow eyes suddenly disappear as you scramble to dial your best friend’s number. You bring the phone to your ear and back yourself up into the back wall. You feel yourself shivering when a voice finally answers the phone.
“Hello?” asks a familiar voice.
“Joe!” you scream out, your breathing hard. “I need you to come to my place! Please hurry!”
You can hear concern in his voice as he speaks to you, but you ignore everything as you stare outside, searching for anymore movement. You hear your name being shouted and you come back to reality.
“I can’t explain it right now! Just please hurry!”
And with that you hang up the phone. You were use to seeing foxes and coyotes in your backyard, as they search for any kind of food, but this thing. This thing was different. It was terrifyingly huge and it’s eyes were as if they were trying to speak to you. You feel crazy for even thinking that. You were just terrified and silently pray to yourself that Joe hurries over. You walk to your living room and sit on your couch, bringing your legs to your chest. He only lived about ten minutes away, yet to you, it felt like hours in this current situation. You weren't sure exactly what you were going to tell him. You were going to sound insane and like a scared little helpless girl. A big scary monster is outside, you sarcastically think to yourself. You’re still sat when suddenly there’s a pounding at your door. You jump and gasp as your heart races once more. You slowly stand up and walk around the corner, peering at it. You walk up to it and lean in to peek out of the peephole. Joe is stood there, bouncing on his heels. He reached forward and bangs on the door once more.
“Y/n!” he shouts.
You quickly unlock the locks and swing the door open. You grab his shirt and pull him inside as you slam it shut. You lock the locks once more and lean against the door, eyes closed as you take in a deep breath. Joe watches you with a brow raised, confused as to what’s happening. You open your eyes and look to him. You furrow your brows and stand up straighter.
“You were really fast getting here.” you say, almost curious.
Joe shrugs and leans on his other foot, looking down for split second.
“There was no traffic.” he says as he lightly laughs. “And I took that one back road to get here.”
You squint your eyes and lightly shake your head.
“A back road?” you ask, almost forgetting about the main reason Joe was at your home.
Joe opens his mouth to talk, but quickly closes his eyes and shakes his head.
“Forget about it. I’m here for you, so talk to me. What happened?” he asks, slowly walking to your living room couch, you following behind him. The two if you sit down and you glance to your sliding glass door, half expecting to see eyes staring back. You lightly shutter and look to him, taking in a deep breath.
“Okay,” you start. “Tiger was staring at something in the backyard and it really freaked him out. I thought he was just being weird…” you pause and glance back over to the door. “But I saw something move. I saw it’s eyes. They were just staring at me.” you whisper, not breaking your eye contact with him. He raises both brows and blinks a few times.
“So you saw an animal in your backyard? The backyard that’s surrounded by woods…” he says slowly, making you feel almost embarrassed. You exhale and lean your head back and groan.
“This thing was huge, okay? I’m not crazy!” you shout, throwing your hands up. Joe shakes his head and puts up his hands in defense.
“Hey, I never said you were! I’m just saying it’s late, it’s dark, you’re home alone. You saw something move and your brain was playing tricks on you. I’m not denying what you saw.” he says softly. You stare at him and slowly nod your head, coming to realize that maybe he’s right. You were exhausted and maybe you were just seeing things.
“I just won’t get over it’s eyes, that’s all.” you say as you cross your arms and think about them staring at you. Joe lifts a brow and sits himself up, leaning his elbow against the back of the couch.
“What did they look like? The eyes that is.” he asks, curious. You look to him and shrug, looking down at your hands.
“They were big and yellow. They literally were glowing yellow. And they just stared at me.”
Joe sits up straight and stares at you intensely. He doesn’t move or say anything, as you continue talking.
“I’m thinking I should call animal control and have them come look around here, or at least for them to keep a closer eye on the woods.” you say, still looking down. That sounded like a good idea to you. It put your worries to rest.
“No!” says Joe, a little more louder than he wanted to sound. You look up to him quickly and raise a brow. His once anxious face had fallen into a relaxed, sorry look. Sympathetic almost.
“I just mean, it’s probably not anything to worry about, y/n.” he says, quietly. “It’s probably just a wolf. We have those you know. Big ones. In the woods. Probably these woods.” he says, speeding up his words. You watch him and your eyes open wide as you glance to the back door once more.
“Wolves? Here? Is that suppose to make me feel better? That’s terrifying, Joe!” you say, quickly standing to your feet. You wrap your arms around yourself and begin pacing back and forth in the room. Joe is sat still, watching you. He finally stands up and walks to you, placing both hands on your shoulders to stop you. You look up to him and frown.
“Y/n, listen,” he starts. “You’re safe. I promise. How long have we been best friends now?” he asks, smiling. You return one and lean your head back.
“A little over three years now.” you say quietly.
“Yes, a little over three years now. I won’t let anything happen to you. We’ll buy you protection if you want? You can carry mace or even a taser.”
You frown and drop your hands to your side.
“What about a gun?” you ask, raising your brows. Joe shakes his head and half laughs, finally dropping his hands as well.
“You and I both know that you and a gun would not be a good idea.”
You laugh loudly and nod. He was right. That would not be a good combination. You're not even sure if you and mace would be a good pair, but it’s a good idea.
“Okay,” you finally say, taking a deep breath. “Once I buy some stuff to protect me, I’ll feel better. And I won’t call animal services.”
Joe lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He smiles and nods fast.
“Okay, good. Just know you can always call me for anything. Even if big foot comes knocking at your door.” he says, teasing you. You sarcastically laugh and swat at his arm, eliciting a loud laugh from him. He smiles and pulls you into a big hug, squeezing slightly. You release and look up to him.
“Still on for tomorrow?” he asks, raising a brow. You smile and nod.
“Who’s gonna be there?” you ask, walking back to the couch and sitting down. Joe follows, but he continues standing.
“Rami, Gwil and Ben.” he says, naturally.
You were super close to Rami and Gwilym, but Ben?
“Ben?” you ask. “Who’s Ben?”
Joe sits on the arm of the couch and threads his fingers together.
“He’s the new leader of our pack.” he says, dramatically. You roll your eyes and laugh at his comment.
“You make it sound like you’re wild dogs.” you say, laughing. Joe’s face falls for a split second and then he’s laughing along with you. He stands once more and looks to the front door.
“Well thank you for coming to my rescue again.” you say as you stand up with him. You walk to your front door and he opens it up, a warm breeze making its way inside. He turns to face you, smiles and once more pulls you in for a hug. You squeeze him and back away.
“I’m just a call away.” he says, walking on your front porch. “Just don’t think about what you saw too much. It’ll only freak you out more. And go to bed.” he says sternly as he walks down the steps and to his car.
“Fine!” you call out as you wave him goodbye. You slowly close the door and don’t forget to lock it tight. You turn around and lean your back on it, taking in a deep breath and closing your eyes. This was too much excitement for one night. You were now officially exhausted. You drag yourself through your hallway and to your bedroom. You walk in and discard every item of clothing you have on. You pull out an over sized, white shirt from your top drawer and slip it on. You click on your TV and the news pops on. You shut your light off and quickly hurry to your bed, sliding under the cool covers. Your head hits the pillow and your eyes automatically close. You sigh once and then you fall into a deep sleep.
That night you dream of bright yellow glowing eyes staring at you. You were lost in the woods and all around you were tall trees and no path. It was pitch black, the only light being the full moon high in the sky. The glowing eyes stare at you and you couldn’t look away. You were almost in a trance. They had some kind of spell on you and you couldn’t break free. You wanted to open your mouth and scream, but you couldn’t. You were fixed on these bright eyes and you weren't sure why. Just then, the eyes seemed to get closer and closer. You realized and started backing away until your back bumps into a tree. You had nowhere to go, you were cornered. The eyes get closer and right before you wake, the creatures mouth snarls and long, sharp fangs appear as a hideous growl rips through the woods and right through your heart.
You suddenly wake up and gasp as your eyes shoot open. You grab your chest in an attempt to slow your breathing. You look around frantically, half expecting the yellow eyes to be in your room, but they weren't. It was no longer dark, as sun rays break through your closed curtains. You slowly sit up and look to your right as a sleeping Tiger is curled up next to you. You smile and gently pet him, making his stretch and yawn. You look over to your bedside table and grab your cell phone. 7:28 AM. You lie back down and stretch your muscles awake. You stare at the ceiling and suddenly remember the dream you had. It had to have been because of Joe talking about wolves. Yeah, that’s why you dreamed that. You shake your head and sit up once more. You needed to get up and get ready for the day. Suddenly the name Ben comes to your mind and you’re curious about him. You wonder why Joe had never brought him up before. Who was he? Why had you never heard of him before? You quickly push those thoughts away and head to your bathroom to shower. You guess you’ll find all of that out today.

You run as fast as you can. You limp harshly, but you don’t stop. Pain radiated in your leg, but you ignore it. You hear the chaos that continues behind you as teeth clash with teeth. You continue running and see your house getting closer and closer. What’s happening, you think to yourself. You trip over a vine and fall forward. You catch yourself with your hands and try to pull yourself back up. You continue running even faster. All you can hear now is growling behind you. You get close to your house and spot Tiger on your back porch just waiting. You weren't sure what to do, but you’re first instinct was to scream.
“HELP!” you scream out. “SOMEBODY HELP ME!”
You limp up to your porch and fling open your door. Tiger follows behind you as you slam it shut and lock it. You look outside and see movement somewhere in the woods. You turn and rush to your phone. You unlock it and naturally, you call Joe. It goes straight to voicemail. You scream out in frustration as you try once more. Again, voicemail. You search through your contact list quickly and find Gwil’s name. You push it and hold it up to your ear. You close your eyes and pray to yourself that he answers. And he does.
“Hello?” he asks, music in the background is blaring.
“Gwil!” you sob loudly.
“(Y/N), are you okay? What’s wrong?” he asks fast.
“Gwil, please help me! Please!”
“(Y/N), calm down. Take a deep breath, just tell me what’s going on. I’m on my way.”
You take in a breath as you wipe your eyes.
“These things in the woods… It sounds so crazy, but one attacked at me. Please, Gwil-”
Suddenly, there’s a loud slam against your glass door. You slowly turn around and freeze. The thing that attacked you was staring at you through your sliding glass door. It’s head was low as it snarled at you. You can now make out what it looks like. It looked like a dog, but it was huge. Gigantic actually. So massive that it took your breath away.
“(Y/N)?”calls out Gwil.
The creature slowly backs away as it looks at you. Then suddenly, it rushes forward and slams it’s body into your glass door once more. You walk backwards and all you can do is scream. It’s a blood curdling scream as you realize this thing is trying to get into your house. You hear Gwil on the phone as he yells out for you, but you can’t talk back. You’re shocked in fear. All you can do is scream.
“I’ll be to you in five minutes! (Y/N)! Do you hear me!? I’ll be there soon!”
Your back hits your refrigerator as you continue screaming. Suddenly, the other creature appeared as it jumped up high and started once more attacking. The two animals snarl and bite at each other as you grab Tiger and run to your bathroom. You shut the door and lock it fast. You can hear the commotion outside as you get into your bathtub and bring your knees to your chest. You hold Tiger close as you squeeze your eyes and sob. You didn’t want any of them to get inside. Gwil was still on the phone as you hear him constantly shout out for you. It feels like you’re in the tub for forever when suddenly you hear something in your house. Your front door opened and slammed.
“(Y/N)!” screams someone. “(Y/N)!”
Joe! You open your eyes and stand up fast.
“JOE!” you scream out.
You limp to the bathroom door and open it up.
“JOE!” you scream out once more and hear footsteps running towards you.
You run to your foyer and watch as Joe stares at you with fear on his face. He shakes his head and rushes to you, wrapping his arms around you tightly. You squeeze him and sob into his shoulder. You feel protected finally. Joe kisses the top of your head as he brushes his fingers through your hair.
“It’s okay. I’m right here. You’re okay.” he whispers.
Your front door opens up quickly and you jump. You look up and in walks Gwil. He looks terrified as his eyes lock to yours. He exhales as he runs to you and hugs you.
“Oh my god,” he whispers. “I was so scared.”
You hug him tightly and then lean away. Gwil looks you up and down and his eyes stop at your leg.
“You’re bleeding!” he yells.
Your stitches must’ve opened up during all of that chaos. You look down and nod.
“Where are your crutches?” asks Joe, concerned.
“In the woods.Tiger got out and I went after him and…”
You feel silly explaining what you had seen and you didn’t want to tell them. You thought they would make fun of you, but they don’t. You look up and Gwil and Joe are looking at each other. They look angry as they nod to each other. You don’t understand.
“What?” you ask, looking between them.
“(Y/N),” starts Gwil.
“We want to show you something.” says Joe.
You shake your head not understanding as they begin walking to your sliding back door.
“No!” you yell out, feeling tears sting your eyes again. “No, don’t!”
“(Y/N), it’s okay now.” says Joe, reaching to take your hand. “I promise.”
You’re speechless as you allow Joe to lead you to the door. Outside in your yard is the large animal that had attacked the other one for you. Your eyes open wide as you gasp and take a step back.
“That’s it!” you whisper. “That’s the thing! We have to call the police!”
Joe and Gwil shake their heads fast.
“No! Just… Follow me.” says Joe, opening to door.
You shake your head fast and protest against it.
“No. No way am I going out there with… That! Are you kidding me? I was just attacked by one!”
Gwil nods and stands close to you.
“You have to trust us. You just have to.”
You look to his soft eyes and you slowly nod. You weren't sure why, but you were going to walk out with them. As slow as you possibly could, you limped to your back porch. You were sandwiched between Joe and Gwil. You watched the creature walk back and forth in your yard when it suddenly stops and faces you. It slowly walks forward and as it’s walking, it changes shape. Your eyes widen as the dog-like creature turns into a human. A full transformation. You stop breathing as you try to understand what had just happened.
“The dog thing….Turned into… A person…” you whisper.
Joe and Gwil walk next to you and watch your reaction. They’re nervous as they watch your face turn white.
“(Y/N)?” asks Gwil.
The person walks closer, but this isn’t just any random person. It was Ben. Suddenly your head gets dizzy and everything goes white.
“(Y/N)?” asks Joe.
Your eyes flutter close and you fall backwards.

The car ride all the way back to your house felt like forever. Before you left the hospital, you had to talk to someone about your insurance. Joe had told you that he’d leave first and get your home ready for you and check on Tiger. That left you all alone with Ben once again and riding in his car. You had walked outside and sat on the bench as he hurried to grab the car. He pulls up to you and opens the back door, helping you inside. You slide in and allow your sore leg to lay in front of you. He leans forward and hovers over you as he grabs the seatbelt. His face is near your ear and you can hear his heaving breathing and smell his cologne. He backs away and his eyes lock with yours. He continues staring at you as he brings the seatbelt around and clicks it. You half smile and blink a few times.
“Thank you.” you whisper. He smirks and leans away, gently closing the door behind him. He walks around and gets in. You immediately start driving. Ben reaches over and turns the radio on. ‘I've been running through the jungle, I've been running with the wolves, to get to you, to get to you-’ starts playing. You look out the window and watch as cars pass by. You look up and watch as Ben’s eyes are watching you from the rearview mirror. You swallow hard and look away fast.
“So, um, I half expected a motorcycle to pull up.” you say jokingly. He looks to you and laughs.
“Yeah well, sorry to disappoint. I figured my car would make a better suit for your condition.” he teases. He looks back to you, surprised that you didn’t find a snarky remark. He furrows his brows as your face goes white.
“Hey, you feeling okay?” he asks. As soon as he asks that, a wave of nausea hits you. You put your hand over your mouth and squeeze your eyes shut, shaking your head fast. Ben pulls over fast and swings around to hand you a paper bag, that was once obviously used to purchase alcohol. The thought of alcohol makes you hunch forward and upchuck everything in your stomach. You suddenly feel Ben’s hands in your hair, soothing you. You were beyond embarrassed.
“It’s okay.” he whispers. “It was probably from the morphine. It makes a lot of people sick. It’s okay.” he continues to comfort you. You feel better as you lean back, resting your head against the window. You didn’t want to open your eyes, you were mortified that you had just thrown up in front of him. You hear him shuffle around for a moment then stop.
“Here,” he says, handing you a bottled water and a napkin. “I bought it while you were talking to that women. I figured you’d need it.” You stare at him and take the water, instantly gulping it down. You wiped your face and smile to him.
“Thank you. Really. You didn’t have to do any of this.” you say. He smiles and turns back around, driving once more.
“I know.” he says. You raise a brow and half laugh.
“Don’t nice guys finish last?” you ask, before catching yourself. Ben looks at you through the mirror and raises a brow.
“Isn’t that what every girls wants?” he asks back, smirking. You’re thrown back by his answer and laugh as you roll your eyes. What a cocky man. You lean your head back and close your eyes, praying that the drive goes by fast. You feel yourself doze off and suddenly you’re not moving anymore. You wiggle around and yawn. You open your eyes and you’re no longer in the car, but on your bed. You sit up fast, almost scared. How did you get inside? You were in the car the last time you remembered. Ben had drove you here.
“Ben!?” you shout out, scared. You hear sudden footsteps and Joe rushes in. Your heart rate slows down at the sight of him. You lean back and exhale.
“Hey, it’s okay. You fell asleep in the car so Ben carried you in. He didn’t want to wake you up.” Your eyes open up fast.
“Ben carried me in? Man, what is it with this guy? He gets to the hospital all worried, he drives me home and now he’s carried me inside. I barely know hi-” you stop as he walks into the room, a sly smile on his face.
“Tea?” he asks, holding up a cup. You feel your cheeks burn at the sight of him. You know he had to of heard you. You thought he would’ve left by now, but oh were you wrong. He walks further into your room and runs a hand through his locks. His eyes look to you as he lowers the cup. You awkwardly smile to him and whisper a thank you.
“No problem.” he replies back. Joe sits on the side of your bed and watches you. You look exhausted and he can tell.
“I called your job and school. You’re on medical leave for both right now. You can’t walk around like this.” he says. You just nod, knowing that you can’t argue with Joe. Suddenly, you remember your car.
“My car!” you say loudly. Joe nods and holds his hand up.
“I know. I already called your insurance, they’re figuring it out. You were hit from behind, so you’re covered. In the meantime, Ben here said if you need to go anywhere, he’ll take you. He’s only staying a few minutes from here.” You look to Ben and he’s looking down at his feet. You just nod. “The rest of the gang are on their way to see you. Gwil was beside himself when he heard about what had happened to you.” You sadly smile and open your mouth to speak, but a phone goes off. Ben slides it from his pocket and looks down. He suddenly looks up to Joe and slightly nods his head. He looks to you then walks out of the room. Joe watches him for a moment then stands up.
“Are you leaving?” you ask, sad. He shakes his head no.
“No, no. I just have to get in on this call with Ben. I’ll be right back.” he says, walking away. You exhale and look around your room. You hear loud whispers out in the hallway and try to listen.
“What do you mean!?” shouts Ben loud. You jump at the sudden noise and hear Joe telling him to shut up. They whisper and argue back and forth before you hear footsteps walking close. Joe walks in as Ben hangs around your door.
“Hey, I’m so sorry,” he starts. “We all have to go do something, but I promise when it’s done I’ll be back over here in a heartbeat.” You stare at him in almost disbelief.
“You’re leaving me?” you half whisper. Joe’s heart sinks at your expression and Ben takes a step forward, wanting to comfort you.
“Just for a little bit. I have to do something. You know I wouldn’t leave unless if I had to. Please don’t be upset, you just lay here and relax. Watch TV. Okay?” he asks, grabbing your hand and kissing the back of it. You smile and nod.
“Is there anything you need?” asks Ben. You look to him and shake your head.
“No, I’m good. Just… Have fun.” you say. Joe looks to Ben and hides a laugh.
“Yeah, doubt that.” The two of them exchange a glance and he looks back to you. He hugs you goodbye and Ben waves to you. They walk away and out of the house as you hear the door swing close. You exhale and look over at a sleeping Tiger next to you. You reach and pet him as he stretches. You look over to your bedside table and stare at the tea lying there. What was it about this Ben? Why was he so… Different? And what was so important that they all had to leave? You rack your brain with all of these thoughts and suddenly feel sleepy again. You pull the covers close to you and shut your eyes, drifting away once again.
3 Hours Later
You shuffle in bed as a loud noise wakes you up. You feel groggy and confused as you rub your eyes, in hopes of waking you up more. You blink a few times and look around. Outside was now pitch dark. The only light illuminating your room was from a far off light in the kitchen. You stir around and reach over for Tiger, but he’s not there. You sit up and rub your eyes once more and yawn. You felt like you had been asleep for two seconds, you definitely could have slept longer. You move your leg and a pain shoots up. You hiss and pause, not wanting to move. You look over to your table and the tea cup was now accompanied with a pill bottle and a note.
‘We came by to check on you and didn’t have the heart to wake you up. Ben had went and got your medicine filled, so take one if you need it. We’ll be back early to check on you. Sleep well. - Gwil x’
You smile at the note and the fact that Gwil had wrote it. You sit it back down and pop open the top of the pill bottle and grab one. You read the bottle to make sure the dosage was correct and it was. You quickly throw it in your mouth and drink it down with the now cold tea. You read the bottle more and it has a warning label. This medicine was going to make you loopy apparently. Great. Like you need that. You rest against your headboard and close your eyes. Several minutes pass when you hear a loud noise again. You jump and stare at the door wide eyed. You hear a faint meow coming from your kitchen. Tiger. You grab your crutches and force yourself to stand up, ignoring the pain in your leg. You stumble a bit, but catch yourself. You begin making your way into the kitchen and look around. You walk to the wall and flip on the kitchen’s bright light, helping you see better. You turn your head and you almost stop breathing. Your back door is wide open.
You look around once more for Tiger, but you see nothing. You slowly walk to the door and peer out. It’s pitch black out, but quickly lights up when you turn the porch light on. You look to the woods in front of you, and there sat at the edge of the trees, is Tiger. You want to run to him and scoop him up, but you can’t. You hurriedly walk onto your porch, making sure not to lose him. He watches you and meows as you call out his name in a harsh whisper. He stands up and darts into the forest. You almost scream out when he disappears. Before even thinking about it, you begin down the porch steps slowly and attempt to chase him. You call out his name a few more times as you enter into the woods. The full moon had made it easier to see in the dark woods. You continue walking and frantically looking everywhere for your lost cat. You call out again and turn around to watch as your house becomes tinier and tinier. You turn back around and walk deeper into the woods. You hear a meow and call out. Just then, something makes a twig snap.
You freeze where you’re at and don’t dare to look around. You hold your breath as another twig snaps even closer to you. Out of fear, you attempt running even deeper into the woods. The crutches are sore against your arms, but you ignore it. You find a large tree and hide behind it, leaning against it to catch your breath. You wait several more minute and turn to look behind you. The faint glow of your porch light can be seen. Your heart races and your leg slightly aches. The feeling of lightheadedness begins to make you feel almost high. You close your eyes and shake your head. That damn pain medicine you took was starting to kick in. You rub your face and slowly turn back around. You’re greeted by a large creature on all fours, staring at you with yellow eyes. The same yellow eyes you had seen the other night. You’re frozen in fear as the creature snarls and shows it’s long, sharp fangs. It lets out a low growl and you’re unsure of what you should do. Unsure of what animal this even is.
You grip your crutches hard and attempt to make a dart for it behind you. You try to apply pressure to your hurt leg and ignore the pain that’s shooting up into your thigh. Tears prick your eyes at the terrorizing fear and pain. You want to scream out for help, but you’re afraid that another creature like this will hear you. You scramble through the woods and hear the thing close behind you. You hear a large growl and quickly fall down to your stomach just in time as the thing lunges over you. It lands back on the ground with a loud thud and slowly turns to look at you. It’s blocking your way home. You slowly stand back up and hold a crutch in your hand. The two of you stare at each other for what seems like forever. The thing all of a sudden lunges at you quickly. You grab your crutch and hold it in front of you, sideways. You grip it hard and slam it into the animal as it reaches you.
Animal? Was it an animal? You’ve never seen something so big in your life. The thing flies behind you as you fall to your back, knocking the wind out of you. You take in a deep breath and roll to your side just in time as it slams the ground beside you. You hurry to your feet as the creature grabs your crutches and throws them to the side. It was smart. You stare at it helpless and try to think of anything to use for self defense, but nothing. Just then, it sprints at you and jumps in the air to attack. You put your arms in front of your face and scream loudly as a sudden yelp is heard. You open your eyes and watch as another identical creature was fighting the other. The two of them were clashing teeth and biting hard. The different thing grabbed the other by the neck and tossed him into a tree, splintering it. It turned to look at you and something in its eyes told you to run. And trust me, you ran.
