Part 1 | Part 2
For the entirety of the first month in the small cabin on the other side of the border, you stayed by Aaron’s side. You were always by his sight. You were always in sight. It wasn’t that you wanted to, but Morgan and Spencer scared you, Morgan, especially. He’d usually send you glances across the room, furrowed brows, looking like he wanted to sink his teeth into your soft skin and pierce through to the tender muscles. And Spencer was like his right-hand man, always agreeing with him, almost as if it was their mission to make you as uncomfortable as possible. But they knew that when and if they hurt you “too much” it would be over for them. Their alpha would not be happy.
Hotch was aware of their little tricks that they played on you, remembering back to the hotel room where they’d taken you to, remembering how Morgan had suggested that they just kill you instead of bringing you along. But how could he? How could he just have killed you when you were so small and frail compared to his massive frame. You were like prey. Prey that he wanted to play with. His little bunny.
Aaron noticed how you stayed by his side as much as possible, you didn’t speak much, but your presence was enough to ease his nerves. Nerves about you escaping and finding your way back to civilization. It would be over for the three wolves if you did and decided to cry wolf to everyone in town.
“Aaron?” Your voice was hoarse from barely having said anything all day. You were curled up under his arm on the couch. The others had gone out sometime earlier, having yet to return to the cabin, and had left the two of you alone.
“Hmm?” His attention never left the book he was reading, just voicing that he was listening to what you had to say. He was reading Dracula. Something about wanting to know what this whole vampire craze was about he had said. You thought it was kind of ironic with him being a werewolf, but it was never something you’d mentioned to him.
“I’m bored. Can we please do something? Go for a walk, play a game, just something please.” You twisted your body until your head was in his lap, looking up at him with the biggest whimpering puppy dog eyes you could make. You hoped that it would somehow speak to his instinct and have him take care of your needs.
“That’s great Bunny, maybe when Morgan and Reid return, okay?” He continued reading, dismissing your boredom. With a heavy sigh, you rose from your spot in his lap, almost managing to leave the room and go upstairs to your bedroom. “AH! Back here! You know the rules.” He pointed at you before giving the side of his thigh a single pat. You returned with a lowered head, placing yourself under his arm where you previously had been. “Good girl.” He cooed at you, his arms wrapping around your body and hand gently patting the side of your head a few times.
Aaron had seen the way you’d responded to the praise, as he’d unknowingly showered you with it in the first few days at the cabin. And now he used it to his advantage. You became like putty in his hands with eight letters that could be drawn out or quick spoken. You were malleable. And he loved that.
As the day neared to an end and Morgan and Spencer still hadn’t returned, you got more and more discouraged. Your walk outside was getting farther and farther away from you and you knew that fully well. Aaron rarely let you out of the house, and especially not after dark. It was almost as if it was an unspoken rule that was never to be broken.
Aaron had observed you during dinner. Head in hand, pout on your lips and mindlessly pushing your food around on the plate, barely eating a single thing. It worried him a bit, but he said nothing, not wanting you to cause a scene or get angry with him, not when he had gotten you so far already. You were close to being his, he could sense it in the air and he was not about to lose his hard work.
After almost twenty minutes after he was done eating, you still hadn’t eaten a single mouthful more than the few veggies you’d managed to eat before getting sad. He had waited for you, hoping that you’d at least eat just a little more, but he knew it wasn’t going to happen unless he forced it into you, and he was not doing that.
“You done with your dinner, Bunny?” He raised his brow in question, when you stayed silent only giving him a small nod, he knew not to push you and just grabbed your plate. You’d be hungry eventually he thought as he placed it in the fridge, hoping that Morgan wouldn’t eat it once they returned. “C’mere.”
You followed his orders, slouching your way up from the table and into the open kitchen. Aaron grabbed you under your arms, carefully lifting you onto one of the counters. Without having to force you, he spread your legs, stepping in between them to get closer to you. With three fingers he gently lifted your head, forcing your eyes to meet his.
“What’s the matter with you?” He inquired, hoping that you would answer him. But you didn’t. “(Y/N)!” He snapped, not meaning to sound as harsh as he did, but you flinched nonetheless.
“You promised that we could go on a walk when Morgan came back. Where is he?” You frowned.
“I said maybe we could do it, but Morgan and Reid aren’t coming back for a few days. So you’ll have to wait.” He corrected you, sighing. He hated to disappoint you, but it was for your own good. Or more like for their own good.
“Why?” You frowned.
“Because I said so!”
“But why can’t they just come back tonight?” You crossed your arms across your chest, hoping to intimidate him with your attempt at imitating his stare. But all Aaron thought of it was how amusing he found it. You were much less scary than a newborn kitten.
“I send them away until their rut was over. You don’t need to see nor need to hear or smell it when they go at it. It’s not pleasant. Now no more questions. We’ll take a look at your walk idea when they get back again. I believe you mentioned something about playing a game earlier. yeah?” You nodded your head at him, thinking back to a few hours ago what you’d asked him to do.
You’d found the cupboard of board games a few days ago, wondering why they never played any of them together, or at least why none of them had acknowledged that you had them. You slipped away from him, Hotch was not worried about losing sight of you this time. He could hear you run up the stairs, your footsteps resonating across the ceiling as you ran into one of the bedrooms upstairs and dug out a game.
They all looked really old and especially looked like games that you’d seen your grandparents play. Games like Sequence, Stratego, and Pass the pigs. In the end, you found a case of backgammon and decided on that one.
Hotch smiled as you came rushing back down the stairs with the large briefcase in your hands. You set it up at the table, sitting cross-legged on your chair as you waited for him to take his spot on the opposite side of the table.
“Can I be the white chips, please?” Suddenly you’d gotten very chipper and excited about such a silly little thing as an old and dusty board game that Aaron didn’t even know that they had. But how could he say no to you? He just smiled and agreed upon your request as he settled for the black chips and let the game begin.
Days went by before the two males came back home. Spencer had twigs and leaves in his mop of curls, while Morgan had mud covering his clothes and cheeks. An overall disheveled appearance.
You were asleep in Aaron’s lap as they returned, the three males only shared a look between each other, Hotch acknowledging nodded at them before the two went upstairs to tidy themselves up.
He moved a stray strand of hair out of your face, feeling you rub your cheek against his thigh while your hand squeezed his thigh tighter under your palm. Aaron just smiled.
You were almost too easy to handle based on your circumstances, but he didn’t complain, nor did he want to. Besides, in the end, you wouldn’t want to misbehave his orders, he was far stronger than you. And with two other wolves in the house, you were outnumbered and would be in danger in under a second if he decided that you’d served your purpose.
“She been any trouble while we were gone?” Spencer was the first to come back downstairs. His hair was damp and slicked back against his skull. He sat down in the chair opposite you and Aaron on the couch and folded his hands over his chest.
Spencer slouched a bit down in the chair, relaxing as he felt the soft cushion. It felt nice compared to the cold hard boulders they’d slept on as they’d made a nest inside some cave they’d found on their first day.
“She’s been good. A little fuzzy the other day when you guys didn’t come home like she thought you would. Poor thing just wanted to go for a walk.” He chuckled, stroking your hair like a pet. Spencer’s eyes softened as he saw how sweet and innocent you were while asleep. How docile Hotch could make you.
Spencer didn’t really despise your presence in their pack like Morgan did, but he couldn’t disobey his mate, and even though Morgan was his Alpha too, Hotch still had the last word in the pack when it came to it.
You were much like Spencer, although you weren’t a wolf. You’d shown your submission to an alpha, who in turn had taken a liking to you. You turned them softer, let them be vulnerable, or at least given them the chance to be so.
Morgan soon came downstairs too, seeing the pack sit all together. After their rut, they usually went into a calmer state of mind. Morgan didn’t think anything of you as you slept peacefully, he just sat down close to his mate and relaxed too.
“Well, now that you’re back, I think that it’s finally time that I get some good rest. Rather not sleep with one eye open for another day in a row.” Aaron joked. He gently stirred you awake, letting you crawl out of his lap. Moving much too slow for his liking, he scooped you up and carried you up and into what presumably was the master bedroom.
As soon as your body hit the sheets, you nestled yourself under them and fell asleep right away. Aaron smiled. He quickly got ready for bed and crawled under them to join you. His body was cold against yours, making you shiver a bit as he wrapped his big arms around you.
Flipping around in his arms, you curled against his chest, laying half on top of it as he flipped over on his back. Aaron traced patterns onto your shoulder until he too fell asleep. Sleeping better than he had done in a while.
