Stepping out of your humble abode you breathed in the way the forest smelt after a heavy rainfall. Not bothering putting on your shoes you stepped out with a small basket and a few gardening tools. Just because you’re in a forest doesn’t mean you have a hectic, overgrown flower bed. Smiling you wiggle your toes feeling the soft moss under foot as you head the few yards to where you spend most of your time and energy. Your smile grew even wider when you saw your foxglove had recovered from their withered state thanks to the rainfall. Humming you moved to a large cluster of marigolds to start the weeding process.
Normally most creatures that live in these forests are rather vicious or have something against another species. You? No, you preferred to live peacefully since most of your energy was tied to the Earth, but you did take precautions even though you had no enemies that you knew of. The area around your house had been warded. You took the inspiration of one way mirrors, and now you can see out but others just see the forest. Although for whatever reason those who are lost end up finding your quaint home in the trees. Not that you’d ever turn someone away, even if they were asking to have a tree step on them.
Lifting a hand to lift some leaves you check on the new shoots of a spiderwort bush smiling seeing all the green poking out of the damp dirt. Your lips parted to sing a small spell to ensure growth, but you stopped heading spinning to the sound of branches breaking. Whatever was coming in your direction was moving fast, and it seemed like there was several things. Scrambling out of the way you landed on a bunch of primroses as three large beasts stampeded through your garden. Infuriated you let out a scream causing tree roots to shoot out from their places beneath the soil tying up the wolves that crushed your beautiful garden.
Whines and whimpers came from the wolves who had roots coiled around their snouts, limbs and snouts. Shoulders square you stomp up to the trespassers eyeing each of them. Wagging a finger at them your calm facade broke a little, “Do you three have any idea what you just did?” You gesture to the garden behind you. “You ruined my babies, and now you are going to help me fix all of this.”
