Fun facts
The way your brain processes language is fairly complex and so when it goes wrong you get some really weird things happening...
For example people with transcortical sensory aphasia (TSA) can repeat words that they hear other people speak but won’t understand what they mean and can’t produce meaningful speech themselves. Another one which is weird for the opposite reasons is conduction aphasia, where patients can repeat speech only if it has meaning and they understand it.
I find the neuroscience behind it particularly cool but this is meant to be a short post while I’m revising!
