"Oh... Mr. Shade. A pleasure to see you again. I'm afraid I haven't had the chance to visit your, ah... lovely town."
Maya! Maya, it's been so very long since we last saw one another! When can I expect you in Oasis again? Pierfest is soon, and I've already invited everyone else I can remember. Did you know that I miss you? We should hang out again very soon. You and me. And Axton. And Salvador. And Gaige. And Zer0. Frequently.
Maya returned a small smile, perturbed as always by Shade's wide, cracked grin and his crazed manner of speaking. She was worried a little disgust may have shown on her face; his skin was so incredibly mottled and dry it was a wonder he didn't bleed for smiling so enthusiastically. The strange little man was most certainly a lunatic, but Maya had quickly learned that just about everyone on Pandora was at least one shade of insane, and she couldn't help feeling pity for him. Her companions, however, had been less eager to humor his odd behavior. She and the others had been freaked at first by Shade's use of the dead townspeople of Oasis as macabre puppets (the sun had been hot and the smell atrocious), but eventually they had come to realize that he was harmless; the man was just desperately lonely. He posed little to no threat even if he had meant to do the Vault Hunters harm, but he'd helped them through Oasis, over the flats and to Captain Scarlett's ship in Wurmwater. "Shade!" Maya smiled a little more widely, bring a hand to shield her eyes from the unrelenting desert sun, making her way toward the ramshackle Kitty Kream kiosk. "It's good to see you, friend," Maya said gently. "I'm afraid the others aren't with me, and I'm only stopping through; I must have missed your invitation! It looks like preparation for Pierfest is going well, things seem very... lively around here!" She said, humoring Shade's delusions of nothing being wrong in Oasis and no one being, in a word, dead.
