Key information you should never forget...
The middle child in a huge family, West was often overlooked in ways he never should have been and given too much attention in ways that no one deserves. With a father from Portugal and his mother from England, West spent his childhood bouncing between cultures. He always felt a distinct sense of responsibility to his family despite the toxic environment it provided. He was not encouraged to seek higher education but after meeting a group of friends back home, he learned that things didn’t have to be the way they were and he applied to programs around the world. After earning his undergraduate degree in New York City, West chose Cabot Creek for his grad work because of its small-town feel and diverse education opportunities. To his delight, one of his younger sisters has also chosen Cabot Creek for her education, allowing him to look out for someone he cares for. He longs to put his past behind him, but that is easier said than done.

West does his best in his classes and it is noted by his professors. Although he has his own, personal struggles, he excels in classes that capture his interest.
West’s friends find him to be supportive, kind, and funny. On occasion, he is known to put on a mask, and he often withdraws, but overall, he is a great friend to those that deserve his attention.
Back home, West had difficulty making friends because he was often bounced around between countries and had lots of responsibility in a big family. He always accepted his situation until he met a group of friends that convinced him otherwise. To them, he was worth more than he ever believed.
