I was gifted an early start on a free morning of low sunshine and quiet roads. By rights I should have covered 50 miles before breakfast; as it was I did about 15. Too many opportunities to stop with the camera to make any real progress. the 10 miles home at speed doesn't really compensate, but as an exercise in self preservation it was the right thing to do. The bike rides will still be there, the low, spring sun may not. Carpe diem an' all that.
