Western Settings - Old Pain (La Escalera Records / Creator-Destructor Records)
Western Settings has been a band that has been on my peripheral for a while, and that I’ve been meaning to check out. I was recently able to pick up their 10″ Ep, Old Pain, and ever since I’ve been kicking myself for sleeping on this band.
This band knows how to put an Ep together, as all of the songs play off each other well, and feel like one cohesive piece. Yet, they all stand on their own as well. Chicken, from the band Dead To Me, produced the album, and I feel like he was really able to bring out the best of the band.
My two favorite tracks from the Ep were: “Old Pain” and “Wonderful Multiple Episodes”.
I look forward to getting more tunes from this band, and hopefully see them play live. More bands should put out kick-ass Eps like this.
I’m pretty happy with how this sketch came out as well.
