Belgrade: Genex Tower (Западна Капија Београда / Zapadna Kapija Beograda) Mihajlo Mitrović, 1977
Western City Gate (Genex Tower), is a 35-storey skyscraper in Belgrade, Serbia. It is the second-tallest high-rise in Belgrade (115 meters tall), which was designed in 1977 by Mihajlo Mitrović in brutalist style. It is formed by two towers connected with a two-storey bridge and restaurant at the top (closed since 1999). One of the towers is residential place, while the other one is occupied by the Genex Group, and that’s how it got its popular name “Genex”, while its official title remains Western City Gate.
