Looking Toward Carlin
Having moved just east of Ten-Mile Canyon, here we see a westbound train on the former Southern Pacific; Carlin, Nevada, can be seen in the distance. The Central Pacific built through here in 1868 and was on that side of the Humboldt River; the other track visible on this side is the former Western Pacific, which was constructed in the early part of the 20th century.
