Is it still consider a yeast infection even if there's no itchiness or discomfort? Just the white discharge and the bread-like smell
Remember, yeast infections are overgrowths of your own, naturally-occuring yeast. The yeast is supposed to be there. It’s healthy. The only time it’s a problem is when something changes (your vaginal pH, your stress level, a medication you take, a chemical exposure to the vulva, etc) and causes that normal yeast to grow out of control.
So if you were having symptoms that were uncomfortable to you, I would check under the microscope to see signs of excess yeast. It would look something like this:
If you asked me to check even without any symptoms, I might find one or two of the “hyphae” or “budding yeast”, but likely not enough for me to suggest treating you.
If you have any symptoms that are bothersome to you there is no harm in treating, but if you just have the smell or soemthing else that is not entirely bothersome, try to boost your overall health (eat more fresh vegetables and yogurt, drink more water, wear cotton undies, etc). That way, ideally, you can avoid it from turning into a full-blown infection.
