as I walk through the forest, I come across some ruins of what seems to have been an ancient temple. the light shines through the canopy, illuminating the temple grounds. I make my way through, feeling the moss on the walls, studying the weathered etchings decorating the stones. I notice a shimmer coming from a hole in the wall. it’s an orb. golden and green essence swirls about, and traces of a dark blue dance around within. I reach out and place my hand on the beautiful orb. overwhelming peace and hints of melancholy flow through me.

after months of exploration within the pyramids of Chichén Itzá, our archeological team discovers a secret room down one of the many underground corridors. making our way in, we notice the many skeletons scattered about. there are orbs in some of their hands, dark orbs with red and purple swirls in them. I walk over to one and pick it up out of curiosity. agonising fear fills my body, and I drop the orb in a shock. the essence of unadulterated terror within spills all over the ground, throwing my team into a panic
