I've been really really overwhelmed lately, with all the terrible news coming at us left & right lately. I hadn't actually participated in an action or a rally because I didn't know if it would help or hurt my mental state - if it would make me feel better or worse about the whole state of affairs. But the thing that I forgot was that there's a whole community out there. A whole, wonderful, amazing community. I want to thank every single member of the The Women and Girls Foundation team for helping us get that "Bright Spots" email out last week, and just for being there through this whole awful time. I also want to thank Wasi Mohamed and Betty Cruz and the whole crew that helped put We Will Not Be Banned! together - this was such a cathartic experience, and made me feel empowered and enraged and actually whole again. Thanks, y'all. #nobannowall #justiceforantwon #wewillnotbedivided (at Roberto Clemente Bridge)
