The real mindfuck of Vorta cloning is that it’s not even like reloading a save. They only remember up to the last checkpoint. From the Vorta’s perspective, the thing that killed them is in their future, not their past.
Maybe they’re considering something, planning something, and they go to sync their brain and suddenly they’re in the cloning facility. Ok, obviously it’s time to reconsider that decision. Or maybe it was a different decision, some long chain of events they don’t have the faintest memory of? Even after they get briefed on some of the missing details, it’s hard to know for sure. Did they do something wrong? Did someone else? Was it completely unavoidable? They never have any deaths to learn from, just a growing and ominous string of births.
Anyway, I don’t think the Founders actually changed the formula between Weyoun 6 and 7. I don’t think they had to. The moment Weyoun started doubting, in the privacy of his own mind, he woke up as a clone. And like all the previous times he was born again, he immediately and reflexively flinched away from that train of thought, along with anything else he was thinking of at the time.
guys remember that one episode of ds9 season 7 wher weyoun 6 defected and when the dominion came after him he pretended activate his termination implant so weyoun 7 would call off the jem'hadar ships and then he was like haha sike i was only acting and then he told odo all the dominions secrets and they won the war? remember?
idk who originally posted this (i found it on pinterest) but it immediately gripped me with a horrible need to assign it to weyoun and damar, so i wrote something.
(gore and blood and violence and death ahead ye be warned)
1. weyoun would eat damar simply out of detached curiousity. it would taste of nothing on his tongue.
2. damar is the ant, weyoun is the fungus
3. weyoun is the dog, damar is the master. but also damar is the dog, weyoun being the master. often they are just tangled together by each-other's leashes.
4. weyoun 5 in my solid-basic-dayoun-headcanon dies of strangulation at the hands of damar so... that is my answer. weyoun is always the first to die. his death drive is too strong for him to survive for too long anymore.

6. damar licks up weyoun's cigarette ash when weyoun isn't there to see it.

9. did damar want weyoun to grind him down? partly, yes. did weyoun 5 know damar would kill him? and later did weyoun 8 know damar would destroy the cloning facility holding his future bodies, seemingly rendering him mortal? certainly weyoun 8 knew.

11. not often, because weyouns mouth is toxic. it doesn't always deter.

14. weyoun 6 bites one time into his own wrist. damar watches speechlessly, mortified and drunk as the room spins around them both.
15. damar bites into weyoun's shoulder. weyoun complains about it endlessly, berating him for it. but does not heal it. it scars because he lets it. when he comes back again from the vat, it's gone.
16. weyoun 7 bites damar's hand hard, like a trapped animal, when damar tries to be sweet only one time to him. damar does not heal it. it is hard to scar scaled flesh with a bite like that but he always knows it is there.
17. damar and weyoun digging teeth into eachothers arms, growling and gnashing, dripping jaws locked tighter and tighter shut around bone and viscera, a la the movie Raw.
18. damar imagines himself biting into weyoun's throat until it breaks in his jaw, spilling dark and thick purple liquid onto everything. when he comes back to reality, weyoun is looking at him expectantly with empty eyes and a smug expression across a table from him at quark's bar. damar clenches his fists on the table even tighter.
20. damar brings weyoun flowers in a vain attempt to reach him. it doesn't work because weyoun doesn't understand the gesture or even appreciate it. but he knows it is a gift.
