Excited for 1999, I need to expand on my Drifter's character and this will give me a good opportunity to. Even if it would be really funny if Operator Rees tried to boss around the Hex and they didn't take her seriously.

Honestly, it really feels like they're filtering the Operator through Drifter with a lot of Roathe's chats-

where frankly why the fuck would Drifter care about Margulis? Much less her relationship with Ballas??? Margulis was long dead and the fact they were lovers at any point wasn't really that relevant to anything the Drifter went through. Especially with the fact that like we have no idea if the Operator is privy to any of this information at all??? Operator would want to know more about Ballas and Margulis's relationship. Or just Margulis's life before they arrived. That's one thing that super annoys me. To the Drifter Margulis is a name in a Codex to the Operator she's a surrogate mother; nearly a saint to the Tenno in general. They'd have very different reactions to learning about her and Ballas's romance.

God, it's so funny thinking Margulis was at a party being a wall flower trying to just fulfill her social responsibilities and not raise a fuss and then suddenly she sees Executor Ballas crossing the hall getting closer and closer and realizing that oh no he's approaching her. I would die on the spot personally. Not (just) because Ballas is a piece of shit but like someone as important as that approaching??? nope jumps out a window. That said Roathe really spoils his own Rose-colored vision of their romance if he thinks the thing that ruined it was her taking in the Orphans of the Zariman?? Like, if he truly loved her that wouldn't have been the straw to break the camels back.
