PSA - FanFiction Translations

Hello everyone. Some of you may know that I write FanFictions for a number of different fandoms. Today, I learned that someone - without permission - took one of my stories and translated it in another language, then posted it to his/her account. I only found this out because I discovered an old Private Message on FanFiction.Net of the person asking me for permission to use the story’s cover art. 

That is not okay. 

I am more than happy to allow other writers to translate my stories with my expressed permission, BUT I am not okay with writers posting the translations to their account and not letting me post them to mine. I have had one story translated into French in the past, but the translator allowed me to post it to my account, which I was grateful for. 

However, if I find out that someone went behind my back and translated any of my stories without my permission and posted them as their own, that’s crossing a line. Even if it’s in another language, it is still STEALING another writer’s concept, story & dialogue. Similarly to stealing someone’s fan art and changing a character’s hair color / clothing and then saying it’s original. It’s not. 

Again - I am all for other translations of my work, but I must (1) know about it in advance, (2) give my expressed permission, and (3) be the one to publish it while giving translation credit to the translator.

Title: Protecting Her Heart

Walter gripped the armrests of his chair and abruptly pushed himself upward. “Y-You don’t have to leave.” He immediately circled around his desk and approached her swiftly, stopping just shy of a foot in front of her. “I mean,” he scratched the back of his crown, “If you w-want some peace and quiet, too, y-you can stay up here…. I can even g-go,” his voice squeaked a little, “if you want me to…, if you want to be alone that is, but if you d-don’t… want to be alone… and want to stay up here…, I wouldn’t mind….” He started rocking on the balls of his shoes. “I, uh,” he swallowed thickly and looked at the floor for a brief moment before meeting her eyes again, “I miss,” his eyebrows lifted, “your company.”

Paige inhaled a deep breath and reached out to touch his arm. “To be honest,” she took a step forward, “I miss the old us too.” She sadly smiled. “We used to talk a lot.”

#BATB || Don't Believe What You Read

Hello, beasties. Recently, Enstarz published another article in regards of BATB S3. First and foremost, if you have been keeping up with anything the writers or directors of BATB have said, you would *know* that Enstarz articles never do a great job in collecting information.

Last time, Enstarz assumed a fan-made photo of VinCat at the 9/11 Memorial was a still from S3. We all knew that was false. 

Now, they are saying Catherine Chandler will be married to Vincent?

First of all, having VINCAT get married before the start of the season would be reckless on multiple levels: 1) VINCAT just recently restored their relationship; they shouldn't be thinking about marriage. They SHOULD be thinking about ways to continue to restore their relationship (like talking to one another when something is wrong. You know they can both be so damned stubborn.). 2) The writers would *appear* to be fast-pacing the show as if they were bringing #BATB a means to an end. THAT IS NOT THE GOAL OF THE SHOW!!!! 

I can understand how Enstarz could *misread* SpoilerTV's answer to a fan's question and assume VINCAT would be married, but if you read the quote carefully, it suggests NOTHING about VINCAT being married, only that marriage is in their future. 

Season 3 of Beauty and the Beast is scheduled to air in 2015 and will see our main characters moving on with their lives after the events of Season 2. Vincent has returned to his former occupation as a Doctor and, with her suspension lifted, Catherine has resumed working cases. Vincent and Catherine's relationship has taken a step forward with 'Mrs. Catherine Keller' on the cards. However, Catherine is still struggling with the over-bearing need to put Vincent first. Can she re-establish her own identity before she loses it completely? (Quoted from SpoilerTV)

If you have read what Enstarz has written about S3 of BATB, link (x), they have wrongly assumed that Catherine is struggling with her new identity, Mrs. Vincent Keller. When you read what SpoilerTV said, did you see the words "NEW IDENTITY" within the statement? I didn't! 

Enstarz then goes on a spiel about VinCat seeing a marriage counselor as well as meeting with a married FBI couple for marriage advice. 

VINCAT are not married. Yes, they could be seeing a marriage counselor, but it is VERY possible that they are undercover and pretending to be married.

OR, maybe they were just seeking relationship advice and the counselor suggested they team up with the married couple to seek answers on how said-married-couple manages their relationship on the job. 

I have been disappointed with Enstarz (not that I have ever paid attention to their write-ups before) for the information they have been releasing. Let this be a lesson, Beasties, not to read into any spoiler UNLESS they are quoted DIRECTLY from the following people:
