Do you ever plan to possibly flush out and make a full fic out of your “Who Framed Commander Lexa?” fic? It’s so good and I’d love to see toon Lexa and human Clarke fall in love 🥺
I definitely want to! I’ve had part of the next chapter ready for ages.
Here, I’ll give you a snippet 🤗
Avatar Korra Park is smaller than it appears in the television show, but it’s still a decent size for a Toon recreational park. Life has been better since they started actually using the sets made for Toons instead of erasing them afterwards, Eda assures them as they land on the outskirts and the broomsticks shift into the totems (Palisman, Lexa had told her) that claw into position on their shoulders— a brown owl for Eda, a white cat for Amity, and some sort of snake creature for Luz.
The park is full of life and activity. There are young Toons laughing and running around after each other, Toon dogs playing fetch with their Toon owners, Toon old men playing chess together, and a smattering of people stretching out on mats near the large statue of Korra, apparently doing yoga— with real goats.
“Hey, I see Glimmer over there!” Amity exclaims, pointing at the people doing yoga. “Her mom started working as a liaison for Disney and Dreamworks after her character was killed off their show. She might have heard something.”
“Seems like a good place to start,” Eda says while Lexa nods.
They start that way until they hear a robotic voice say, “FRIENDS!”
Clarke bites down on her impatience when they all come to a halt due to the fat toon dog bounding toward them. Luz and Amity are already cooing and falling to their knees to pet him.
“Hey Carl,” Eda casually greets the Toon old man ambling after the dog. “Where’s Ellie?”
“She and Russell are auditioning for some Disney shorts today,” Carl grunts, coming to a stop just behind the dog currently getting belly rubs.
Clarke squints at him. He looks familiar, and after a moment it comes to her— Up, a Disney movie that’s sad as fuck. She watched it for about ten minutes and shut it off the moment she started tearing up.
“Lexa!” The dog’s tail wags wildly. “You have a human with you! Who is your pretty friend?”
“Hello Dug. This is Clarke.”
“You are a pretty human,” Dug looks at Clarke with his tongue lolling out, tail moving so fast it’s a blur.
“Um, thank you.”
“What’s a human doing here?” Carl asks gruffly, leaning on his cane and squinting suspiciously at Clarke.
“Clarke is helping me with a problem. We’re looking for information,” Lexa says lightly. “Have you seen Donald Duck or Jinx anywhere?”
“Who’s Jinx?”
“Crazy as all get out,” Eda chips in. “Long blue braids—”
“Ah,” Carl grunts, “the one that talks to her gun. Yeah, I saw her this morning. She was at that stretchin’ thing, over by the statue.”
“Goat yoga!” Amity says. “That’s where we were headed!”
“Good luck.” Carl nods his head in farewell. “Come on, Dug, Ellie’s waitin’ for us.”
Clarke watched him go for a moment, once again absently wondering how her life has gotten her here. Utterly entrenched within ToonTown. If someone told her even twenty-four hours ago that she’d be here, she would have laughed in their face.
She wordlessly follows the random group of people she’s somehow acquired. Lexa glances at her but doesn’t say anything, and Clarke certainly doesn’t ask her what she’s thinking.
As they round the huge statue of Avatar Korra, the toons spread out across yoga mats come into view. Clarke doesn’t recognize any of them, but then again, it’s been years since she watched any cartoons.
“Amity!” someone exclaims. A girl with sparkling purple hair rolls to her feet and embraces Amity. “I haven’t seen you in ages! We’re twins now!”
Amity chuckles, pulling at a strand of her own purple hair. “Yeah, I guess we are.”
“Whoa! There’s a human here?” comes another voice, cracking like a teenager in puberty, from a toon boy wearing a crop top.
“Everyone, this is Clarke,” Lexa announces as several others begin crowding in, eager to get a closer look at the human. “Clarke, this is Glimmer,” she points at the girl with purple hair, “Bow,” she points at the boy who just spoke, “Scorpia, and Perfuma,” she points at the two toons who are nearest them that they haven’t had to get up, which is good considering they’re both distracted cooing over the goat assigned to their yoga mats. It bleats and tries to eat Scorpia’s hair and she very gingerly redirects it with her pincers. It has an earring in its ear…Clarke recognizes it after a beat; the goat from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. She can’t remember its name. “I’m afraid it’s a very long story to explain Clarke’s presence here, we’ll have to catch you up another time.”
“Have any of you seen Donald Duck?” Clarke interrupts, losing patience— and it’s not just because all the toons are staring at her like she’s the strangest thing they’ve ever seen. “Or Jinx.”
“She was playing with the goats earlier,” Perfuma says, looking up with a smile as she pets the one in front of her— Clarke remembers it from the trailers for the latest Disney movie, Wish. “I think they’re very calming for her psyche, it’s good for her.”
“Was she alone?” Lexa says, as Clarke says, “And the duck?”
“Hmm, I think she left the session early, actually. She was talking to someone over by the training grounds.”
Another place? Before Clarke can groan, Lexa nudges her. She jumps, because it feels strange— only because it didn’t feel strange at all. Lexa feels warm to the touch, like a human would.
“It’s only right over there,” she tells her, inclining her head. Clarke follows her line of site and spies a small fenced off area tucked in the corner of the park. There are a few toons there now who seem to be training, with a crowd of toons around them cheering it on.
“You two head over, we’ll catch up,” Eda says, smiling distractedly as she stands near a Toon with short green hair and glasses. “I’m going to talk with Raine for a minute.”
Clarke sighs and dutifully trudges after Lexa.
