Coming up with unique stuff for elves is tough because I find them so uninspiring. I’ve gotta devise the elven command structure, important figures, flavours of infantry, artillery, advancers, scouts and a spy network, as well as their entire navy. 

One of their unique features is the sea elf alliance (forged through the two royal lines being linked) and the resulting boons to the navy as well as the expeditionary force led by this sea elf chick here called Quade. As mentioned, elves aren’t my thing so I’ve been trying to give them some flair, some interesting features and I’ve not been very successful. The sea elves are like ten feet tall and have long limbs and that’s as far as I’ve got with making something of them.

Elves, they’re just very plain aren’t they? They’re just skinny humans with long ears. Sure they come in different flavours which I do appreciate but they don’t have, to me, a very inspiring brand. Dwarves have a Brand: diggin holes, forges, masonry, history, artistry and wisdom, hammers and fightyness, they have a very satisfying brand that you can take in all different directions. Knowledge, War, Tempest, Forge or Life cleric societies, building robots and machines (the one I’m probably going for regards to the dwarf army), extremely well structured militaristic society, messy and deal-driven society about old families all trying to one-up each other out of greed. Elves though? Dexterous and..? Wood elves are foresty which is something and sea elves, despite being lame, are fertile ground to rip off aquaman but like high elves? What am I supposed to do with high elves? Drow have a very clear society brand and as such they are my favourite elves. Spiders and Demons and Matriarchy like I can understand and apply that. But what do high elves have? They’re just magically inclined nazis? Unless I wanna base the high elf nation off the third reich I don’t have a logical route to take the elves or any cool gimmicks for their army to have without just doing exactly the same as the human empire. Im very frustrated and I don’t know where I could go to find elf inspiration.
