TW Death, animal death mention, drug and alcohol mention
Death has never been something he’s been afraid of. He always found it intriguing, the cycle of life and death, the possibilities of what happens not only to the soul but the body as well as it goes through it’s last moments.
He almost regrets his actions of his childhood, harming animals just to see the life leave them—treating them like science experiments, playing god. It was not his place to be a god of death. Especially not to something so small, so innocent. People he didn’t mind as much. But being a god of the dead, of their bodies and souls and what happens to them after the action… he didn’t mind overseeing that.
The worst thing about him is his temper. It’s something he can’t control. He likes to pretend that drinking and drugs and sex calm him, but he knows they don’t. Sometimes substances just make it worse. Sex helps sometimes, but it’s only ever a temporary fix to a life long problem.
He can’t help but experiment with his powers every now and again. Trying it on things beyond humans like bugs and rats he finds in the traps outside the mortuary. Trying to see how long they can last. How much he can control them.
He loves Persephone more than he’d ever be willing to admit to anyone other than her. And even then he finds it hard to express his genuine feelings. He hates when his anger turns on her and they get into fights that puts them back into an “off again” season. When he drives her away. It eats him up inside and always leads to harsher times for him both in terms of his actions and behaviors and it’s very clear when he’s in a good place with her because he’s usually in a better mood. But he knows he loves her and he knows if there’s ever anyone he wants to be his wife, it’s her. He just doesn’t know how to express that in words or actions.
He knows they can be bad for each other but he also knows how good they are when they’re good. He wants to figure out how to keep things good all the time but right now he doesn’t know how to do that and he’s too stubborn and arrogant to truly admit to knowing that for that to happen he needs to change things about himself and if he doesn’t, this vicious cycle will just continue.
He doesn’t really have a fun side, but he tries for Persephone to have a bit of a softer fun side like watching whatever tv shows she likes and getting dessert together or doing whatever she wants to do. The only fun he has around other people in his life is his sarcastic and dark sense of humor along with drinking too much. Sometimes though when he does try to let loose he takes things too far and then nobody is having fun.
Sometimes, after a fight with perse and she leaves and her plants have wilted, he’ll try to see if his powers can bring them back, even just for a moment. So far it hasn’t worked, and even if it did, he knows it wouldn’t be forever. He just misses seeing the plants bloom when she’s not around.
He can’t stand his brother. He used to try to interact with him but now he just finds it annoying and pointless and he’d rather throttle him than try to be family with him anymore.
He always dresses in his nicest clothes and suits.
He has an affinity for gemstones and gold and silver. He thinks it’s a superstitious thing, but he believes they make his magic stronger. And much like Persephone with her plants, he likes having a lot of them around. He likes that they’re something natural he can have without feeling like he’s going to kill them.
Secretly wants dogs.
Sometimes he hears things, like whisperings deep in the back of his mind. He tells himself it’s spirits begging for five more minutes on earth. Wanting a taste of life again. The other alternative is that he’s losing his mind and honestly he doesn’t Know which is more terrifying.
Is very annoyed by the specter twins but somehow they’re more useful for him than they are if he cut them loose.
Has different tattoos, some of different alchemical symbols, some that he thinks just look cool or badass.
Has scars from fights he’s gotten into in the past and from his own actions as well. He isn’t a fan of any of them, he feels like they make him seem weak.
He’s violent, cold, and distant which means he doesn’t have many people he would call “friends”. At most he’d call the people he’s close to associates.
Pansexual
Speaks a little bit of Greek.
