Guiding for a living, I get to meet anglers of all ages and skill levels. Occasionally, there will be a stand out that really leaves an impression on me. Today was one of those days. Dave celebrated his birthday by bringing his 13 year old grandson Will for a Shearon Harris largemouth bass whacking session using lures. After some quick guidance on presentation and technique, Will commenced to putting the smack down on the largemouth bass for the better part of our 4 hour session. Ridiculously good fishing on trip number two today. Hagan, Hudson and Matthew put a hurting on the crappie on their 3 hour afternoon trip with around 60 caught and released. These young men are fantastic anglers and an absolute pleasure to be around. My first trip of the day on Shearon Harris was really wet and really windy to start with but my client Brandon put the smack down on the largemouth bass using lures! We dodged the storms and the snipers and managed to boat several bucket mouths which were all released to be caught again. Brandon was a lot of fun to have on the boat and an excellent fisherman as well. Jason the one man wrecking crew came to fish with me again this morning and sore mouthed a bunch of largemouth bass using lures! I have always said if you put this man around the fish he is going to catch them and today was no different. Always a pleasure having this angler with me. We lost count of the total but it was a lot!
