My client Chris came back and brought his brother-in-law Dan with him to experience some Shearon Harris largemouth bass fishing with lures and crappie catching. We started with a beautiful foggy sunrise and a slow bite. After moving around a quite a bit I was able to locate a good school of largemouth that hadn’t been bothered by all of the weekend boat traffic and they went to work whacking on them with hook ups on almost every cast for a while! We then switched over to crappie catching and the stuck several that will make then a nice dinner tonight. Guiding for a living, I get to meet anglers from all over the world and with all skill levels. Occasionally, there is a standout. Today was one of those days. My client Dave celebrated his birthday today by bringing his 13-year-old grandson Will on a 4 hour bass whacking session. After some quick guidance on technique and presentation, Will commenced to put the smack down on the Shearon Harris largemouth bass using lures for the the better part of our trip. He put me to work scooping up fish after fish after fish. Man what a fun morning on the water! My clients Jim and Ryan @ryan__todd came back to see me again and had catching largemouth with lures on their minds. They both boated several nice ones including a Father and son double (my favorite) and had few that came unbuttoned before they made it in the boat. The fog was super thick early but cleared off by mid morning and then we went to whacking them!
