"just thought it was home stuff" okay. so... bernard has a lot of bruises? probably happened at his house! why? bc apparently, in his friend's mind, that's a perfectly reasonable assumption to make about the people bernard shares a roof with. not only does that imply he is willing to believe one of or both of bernard's parents would hurt him physically, but it also implies he thinks they would do so frequently ("a lot of") and severely enough to leave visible welts... right... well thats. um
