The heavy sound of templar boots echoes around the corner, and Merryn knows they have only a few moments before the Knight-Commander’s lackeys round the corner and apprehend them both--Merryn could vanish onto the rooftops with ease, but Levi... she’s too important to risk leaving behind, so they do the only thing they can think of.

Levi’s wrists are soft under their own callused fingers (perks of being a mage, perhaps?), and Merryn would be grinning as they pin her to the wall of the alley if it weren’t for the sound of an authoritative voice ordering a search of the immediate area. Instead, they offer a brush of nose along cheek that’s meant to be comforting before their lips stop just short of her ear.

The priestess moved silently through the corridors, hands behind her back as she approached the throne room. The Inquisitor was preparing her bag to travel. Leviathan was a lovely name, larger than life like the one that she had been gifted in another lifetime. It was not elvhen, it was not meant to be, it did not call to the old shinning spires of crystal, or the soft tones that the dreamers spoke while in Arlathan. No, it spoke of the ocean and how full of life it was, it spoke of the village that she lived on, spoke of the golden sands. It spoke to the smile that grew on the priestess’ lips every time she thought about it.

Dark eyes darted from side to side, and in his mind, he cursed himself for not looking on the floor and watching his step. Damn that branch he stepped on, and damn the City Watch Officer for being so sharp. And most of all, damn himself, for not paying enough attention. He could have gotten himself killed.

Corvo heard footsteps, a person was running towards him. For a moment, he feared that they found him, but his fears were proved to be wrong, when a woman slipped right into where he was hiding, almost hitting him with her elbow.

“Damn! Lost her!” -”Well, next time you should get your face out of your ass, we can’t let citizens run around after curfew.”

The moment the woman was settled next to him, and her eyes got used to the darkness, she could see the Masked Felon. He only put one finger on his lip, signing her to be quiet.

Slender fingers wind around the stems, tracing lightly along the leaves as she lowers her head to smell them. A bit of pink fades into her cheeks as she glances up over the flowers. “Um… thank’y…”
