When I was a teenager, bands that existed 35-40 years ago were Beatles, The who, The beach boys, The animals...

Despite having some bangers, their look and sound was so far removed from what was cool or interesting for us at the time. They looked and sounded cringey and laughable.

Today, Hellhammer, Venom, Bathory or Mayhem are those bands from 35-40 years ago. Teenagers don't say they are cringe or laughable. How? Why?

I try imagining myself at 15, having blogs about The who or delving into discussions about goddamn Beach Boys' sound as teenagers do today about Mayhem.

These perspectives ain't perspectin' in my head. Everything just short circuits
