Living in 2050 isn't exactly a dream for Julie Molina. If the thick, chemical smog and constant monitoring by corporations wasn't enough to make her long for an escape, the loss of her mother has left her completely withdrawn from what's left of the world. But when she wins the chance to test HGC's newest virtual reality game she can't resist the chance to try it out. Most of the lucky few who are testing it are using the opportunity to explore fantastical worlds or experience what it would be like to have superpowers but Julie opts for her own city of LA, just decades earlier. The 90's, the era of history that her mom had always been obsessed with. At first she's only amazed at how real everything feels but when she runs into three characters who don't seem to play by the rules of the game she starts to realize something might be off. Are Luke, Reggie and Alex just part of an algorithm designed to give her the friends she needs or could they possibly be what they claim to be...real? Falling in love with Luke if he's a blip of code is scary. Falling in love with him if he's real enough to lose the way she lost her mom that's a lot more scary. Can they figure out the truth before the CEO of HGC shuts her game down and destroys her link to the guys forever?
What if at the end of buzzfeed unsolved with Shane and Ryan, all the cases and hauntings all of a sudden line up to one huge ending and finally you hear Ryan go “This case will now remain, solved” What would we do then?
