Okay Can Somebody Plz Explain "Undertale" to Me?

Okay I'm a Homestuck/Steven Universe and my feed use to be full of it but now my feed is missing the angry aliens and the gay space rocks and it is full of skeletons and a little kid my friend calls Frisk. I figured out it was a game??? So can somebody plz explain the concept?
