i didnt get to the very end of mcintyre's tswift album listen through bc i went to sleep but i've been thinking again abt pop music right

while pop music doesn't have to have the most "lyrical genius" of lyrics because you want it to be palatable and relatively easy to swallow, but a pop song HAS to SOUND good. it has to flow nicely, i feel like it shouldn't have awkward changes in tone that make you stop and think okay so how do i move on from here .. like that attrocious dj set i experienced last october where you had to stop dancing to recoup and think what the rythm is now

i feel like while the first 2-3 tracks had that and that father song semi had those smooth melody transitions, every other song had awkward lyrics that don't rhyme (and i know not everything has to ryhtme but it didnt even... go together)

but i'm not a pop music expert i listen to metalcore first and foremost 😭 i'm just surprised that this is who is deemed the best artist in the industry by many </3
