for years I just thought “hè” was a weird noise my mother made when she talked…
(he’s saying something like “yeah, that’s difficult, isn’t it?” except in the most ridiculous way possible)
Iceland has evolved into Cutitout-land!
as i write this it hasn't even been translated yet, but i have a friend who is max into iceland and as soon as i saw the strip my mission became clear.
I recently reread NANA and remembered how much I love it - music! fashion! romance! melodrama! - but also amazing friendships, two of my favourites being the lovely one between nana and hachi that drives the plot, but also nana and nobu, who are totally besties and wonderful. I’m a sucker for completely non romantic boy-girl friendships because they’re so rare and nana and nobu are a great example of one.
I've been browsing my blog's Fruits Basket tag for about 40 minutes now.
You know, for discussing a manga that deals with mental illnesses of all sorts, child abuse, and family issues... we sure all are sarcastic and hilarious motherfuckers.
I'm going to reblog some of the gems I think. Because I love them.
Things I Actually Draw At Work: I was reading some really interesting tutorials on city planning/map making, and wanted to give it a shot! Using Skyrim towns because hush.
I really love Skyrim, but the towns are obviously really, really scaled down. Like, "this is the capital! We have thirty people!" I tried drawing my two favourite cities — Riverwood and Riften — but scaled up to more "realistic" size.
I think they look pretty good for my first tries! It was also a lot of fun to do. The Riverwood one I think looks reasonably close to what is in the game. The Riften one looks totally different, but I was thinking of Utrecht and I think it's a larger/decent stab at an actual walled canal city might look like, so I'm proud of it anyway!
protecting myself is the one thing i'm good at.
