How do you take notes? When I was cramming reviewing for my final, I was trying to figure out a way to write notes on the readings quickly that wouldn’t be overwhelming or long.
Mind-mapping is nice, for visual effects, but when the article is 20 pages? the branches become really long.
Notes (typed) are also nice, but I remember reading a Scientific American Article that mentioned that I would be less likely to remember typing it up.
Notes (written) is something I’ve been trying but found myself often getting fixated on the formatting of headings and types of bullet points.
The Main apps that I use:
the limit is 3 mindmaps for free users
each ‘bubble’ can be assigned a colour
Simple & Templates are available
iOS version has 3 sizes of fonts -> could be used for headings
no offline use for free users
Difficult to export unless the entire test is Copy and pasted
Notes (Written): Notability
Apple only! Costs 10$ on Mac, 14$ on iOS
Flexible for writing, highlighting and typing
Templates can be loaded via PDF
Shapes are treated as images and cannot be easily manipulated
Able to record audio -> synced with notes (typed/written)
Backup could be in OneDrive, GoogleDrive, etc.
Notes (Written): MyScript Nebo
Works for all tablets -> $3 on iOS
Translates handwriting into text
Able to translate boxes into actual squares (and other shapes)
could be used as an alternative Mindmapping software
Backup is only in Dropbox T^T
Could read alternative languages, but only one per notebook
Has difficulty differentiating between lower and UPPER case.
