Attended “17 Empty Chairs — An InterFaith Prayer Vigil” last night in Kansas City. It was a moving experience with a simple takeaway message: thoughts and prayers are not enough. These #17emptychairs call out to us all for a change. #whatsthesolution #prayervigil #thoughtsandprayers #igkansascity #parklandhighschool #hopeforthefuture #actionsspeaklouder Kansas City’s faith communities are invited to gather together on February 28, at 7pm on the grounds of Unity Southeast In Kansas City for an Interfaith Prayer Vigil regarding the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The prayer vigil is called “17 Empty Chairs”. Leaders from our local faith communities including Jewish, Christian, Buddhists, Muslim, and many others are all invited to come out and lead the attendees in prayer. All are welcome. We will light candles in memory of those who died, to represent support for their families and loved ones and also symbolize unity towards change in our journey to keep all people safe as we move forward.
