The time warp garden grows! Our newest addition is a crashed UFO that must have passed through a nearby wormhole. Design credits go to the 1961 Twilight Zone episode (Season 2, episode 15), “The Invaders,” written by Richard Matheson. Bag worm fascination. A few days ago on our morning walk we descended into a valley sprinkled with bag worm caterpillars seeking new homes. They’d already grown enough to surround themselves with dead leaves wrapped in silk and were using long silk threads to descend from the upper canopy of a giant sycamore to find new ground level homes. They caught my eye as they swung down in the gentle breeze and appeared to float in midair. A closer look revealed that the leaf bags were hanging from silk threads. On our next walk many of the bag worms had attached to new areas on the tree. Except for one — this one (last frame) had attached to the hood of a shiny black pickup.
