"Pfft, who even cares about Jonathan Harker?"
"What does he even add besides, like, a skinny little intro and giving us a reason to see the vampire chicks?"
"He's so boring. There's literally nothing to say about him!"
As an aside.
I have multiple editions of Dracula. The biggest comes in at 399 pages. The smallest, a palm-sized hardcover, has 463.
As of today, in Harker, Jonathan has just now escaped from Castle Dracula and started his marathon run.

There is something fundamentally awry within me, I think :)

So, I decided to switch things up in the bad timeline. I will eventually edit/rewrite ‘Dusk till dawn’ to make it fit, posting it as an alternate version instead of replacing it.
So! If you’re interested, my headcanon for this angst galore is going to be as followed:
I SAW REQUESTS omg elek please bless me with your writing skills :> also if possible, can i request a n y t h i n g about domestic oikawa because i'm in a brain rot 😟 also, feel free to ignore this :>
HELLO THANK YOU FOR THIS REQUEST, ABSOLUTELY
oikawa x gn!reader, fluff. brief mention of food. 1k words.
— 6:34PM
you leaned back in your chair, stretching your hands behind your head. you broke into a yawn that brought tears to your eyes, and you looked back down at the book you had intended to be reading.
it wasn't that the book itself didn't interest you — the story was plenty exciting, the pacing was fine. your problem was your own inability to focus. you wanted to read this book, but your mind was elsewhere.
your mind was on the fact that oikawa was going to be home from his trip. today. within the next few hours.
it was common enough for you to go and wait at the airport for him when he came home, but this week's trip hadn't been by plane. although the distance he'd gone was shorter, it felt even worse because you couldn't even go and watch his plane come in. your only option was to wait here, maybe prepare him a little welcome-home gift but not much else.
you forced your eyes back onto the page, away from the small gift bag you'd prepared with his favourite snack. you knew he'd like it, but something about seeing it unopened filled you with insatiable longing.
of course, as he always said, he appreciated the little gifts but the biggest gift of all was coming home and seeing you again.
as if on cue, you heard the door opening and you leapt out of your chair, your fatigue temporarily forgotten as soon as your eyes met his. brown, soft, and smiling eyes, a pleasant mouth, and embracing hands all greeted you and you melted into him.
