Johnny 🥊 Exercise/Workout HC
Requested by @neonorigami
-Ever since his injury, Johnny has been kind of sensitive about people watching him do physically strenuous things—he doesn’t want to be seen as weak, especially because his disability was acquired and he hasn’t always been this way.
-When you completely accept him and his limited mobility, he starts to open up more, telling you one night that he’d really like to get back into working out, even though the anxiety of it makes his stomach churn right now.
-You promise to help him find a gym that’s accessible with wheelchair accommodations and say that you’ll try to find exercises the two of you can do together!
-Before the session, you help Johnny get dressed in workout gear, taking your time to help him with his shorts and a loose tank, even pulling his hair back into a tiny (adorable) ponytail.
-You always make sure to tell Johnny how cute and handsome he looks to give him that extra confidence boost. Plus it’s all true~ You really do find him the most beautiful guy you’ve ever met.
-When you make it to the gym and go inside, you stash any extras in the locker room and then meet with a trainer who offered to do a couple’s session and work with both of you.
-Johnny’s work focuses mostly on arms and core strength, as his legs have limited mobility. He finds he enjoys working with 5-10 pound dumbbells and having both of you doing the same exercise to challenge each other.
-Another good couple’s option is tossing a weighted ball to each other, building muscle tone and coordination! (Like so:
-Johnny’s up for modified aerobics too—he can follow a program targeted to upper body, but doesn’t mind if you add moves for your legs too! He loves seeing you use all your abilities to their full extent.
-If you help him change and get into the water, Johnny enjoys swimming too (either just for enjoyment or doing laps). He’ll get super focused on laps, but will lighten up immediately if you start splashing him. He’ll definitely send some waves right back at you!
-At the end, he enjoys doing stretches to cool down, especially if you help him onto a mat and sit behind him to help guide him through the moves. He likes feeling close to you and like you want to be near him. He also appreciates you helping him with mobility if any his muscles are particularly stiff.
-Before he gets back into his wheelchair, Johnny will grin and pull you in for a quick kiss, thanking you for getting him out to the gym and making all the plans.
-He’s grateful for your patience and promises that he’ll only get stronger from here, grinning at you and holding up his (muscled~) bicep, flashing you his signature charming wink. 😁
