#dad bought me a flower today after YEARS. literal years. he used to buy me one every week when i was younger and that routine was disturbed #when we moved #so that disturbance never stopped and we just...forgot that he'd do that #and today he bought me one and he was also joking around ki isme kya pasand aata hai tujhe and i said i like looking at pretty stuff #i like to find beauty in everything. from my friend's eyes to flower on road to other friend's hair to the way water flows

I do think one of the weirder things about social media prevalence is how many people I've heard from that say they can't get rid of their Instagram pages because they need it for online dating or people who've told me they kept getting turned down for dates because they didn't have some amount of social media presence - even when they didn't meet said person on a dating app/online.

To be clear, not judging the people who told me that. I'm judging the social ecosystem that decided a space designed to scrape data and sell ads is a proxy for whether a person is trustworthy enough to go in a date with.

i hate when adults are all “kids never take fine arts classes anymore, kids are so dependent on other people and never learn any useful skills in school” yeah Kathy it’s because you defunded all of our arts programs so your son wouldn’t have to wear the old football uniform that’s been around for 2 years how do you think band kids feel when they have to play on a standing base that was made in Czechoslovakia. the country doesn’t even exist anymore the instrument is so old. how do you think the band kids feel when the school instruments literally are patched with duct tape because they have holes in them and we have no repair budget.

I live in a college town, but kinda far from campus. We’re about 2, 2.5 miles out, but there’s a bus stop at our corner that goes to campus. We live in a duplex with 4 grad students on the other side. They’ve been fairly okay for the most part, but last night they clearly decided to party at like midnight, waking us up when the music started blasting. It had been basically silent when we had gone to bed. I wanted to be an asshole this morning when we got up at 5:30, but I wasn’t. I am so ready to move .

finally have a bed frame so I'm no longer rawdogging my mattress on the floor

#thankfully it has a watertight cover so I've not been beset by mold but i was like. maybe it's time to make sure I can continue to not be #beset by mold #but it has been just a mattress on the floor for a while rip #I did have a bed frame at the old house but it was super dangerous (trundle frame with a broken safety mechanism) so I opted not to bring it #when we moved #and I just never got around to getting a new frame #but considering my top surgery is coming up in a few weeks (!!!!) I should probably not be sleeping at floor level bc that would be so hard #to get in and out of

thinkin abt how when i moved to the state i live in now (i moved in the 8th grade) my mom would constantly be like. you need to get out the house more

but i tried joining an anime club but when i asked my mom had a kidney infection and was really pissy and forbade me from going, which killed any desire for me to try and get out the house

also i did have a whole friend group but i hated talking to my mom so she just didnt know abt it

#personal #our relationship has improved since then but god things were rough #when we moved #probably a factor that led to my major depression at the end of freshman year

My cat has fleas now. Really having a bug week

#we dont have fleas in Utah so i didnt even think to have him vaxxed #when we moved #esp because hes an indoor cat #but yeah #treating everybody and deep cleaning all our shit today #all the animals were so good for the bath #especially elton which is crazy

i’m so glad my ebook era is over

#and so angry that my mom made me get rid of all my books #when we moved #i thought about it last night i had so many books #now i have like 10
