“Some people won't sail the sea 'cause they're safer on land
But I'd follow you to the great unknown”
It was a long day... coming home to fulfil my ‘Sister/daughter’ duty to cook for my 小妹 and do the laundry. I was so tired... physically and emotionally. All I wanted was to just quickly finish up and crash onto my bed.
Guess God didn’t want me to go to bed feeling all defeated. He spoke, in an unexpected manner. There I was on the greatest showman playlist on Spotify while putting the clothes into the washing machine. Tightrope was playing and it went...’some people won’t sail the sea cause they’re safer on land’... in that moment God asked me an question.
“Would you sail with me or stay on your land”
Something just clicked in me. I knew it was Him asking, and I couldn’t reject. One pastor once said, great ships are made for the sea, not the harbour. God has made me great.
“You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great.” Psalms 18:35
It’s not what I’ve done that made me great, not my achievement, not my successes, it’s Jesus that made me great.
I need to stop looking at myself, looking at the vast sea, letting my thoughts run loose, allowing fear to grip me... God is on my ship I fear nothing.
“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” Mark 4:39
Welcome 2018, i’m sailing to my grounds.
