Ahhhhh it's all so good tho! Like I can already tell I'm gonna get in the habit of putting it on and just letting it run all the way through bc it all just flows so well the vibes are just so immaculate. 🤌🏻 I think on the first few listens, the new tracks that struck me the most were Endless Ways, I Wanted To Stay and Three of Swords. Since we'd already previewed Sunsetter I'm not counting it as new but the full studio version is also a fucking stunner, ohmygod its absolutely transcendent. As a whole, I really could not have been more pleased by this record 🥰
SHELBI skdnsk makes sense though. luke can be lead falsetto and cal can just do the rest.
totally! and i mean, at this point, none of them have any info about their positions in the band, so maybe they'll all just rotate instruments. lead singer calum, drummer luke, bassist mike, and guitarist ashton? if they really want to rebrand, that's the way to do it. 😂
hello em!! <3 if you're still doing them, how about "i don't believe in the afterlife but this is the closest i'll get to heaven" or "i chugged four redbulls and now my vision is red" skbfks for the playlists 💞
shal!! I went with the second one, there’s some heavier songs on there, it’s fun to play it loud. hope you like it!! <3
Can I request like ashton fluff where reader wants to earn the guys' approval by cooking for them and ash is just supervising her kitchen disasters with so much fondness?? I LOVE how you write.
Oh my goodness, I haven’t written anything for Ashton in a hot minute. Thank you baby cakes. I love you! 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
Your hands shook as you pulled up in front of Ashton’s house. Six months did not feel like it was long enough to meet the three people he considered brothers. Of course they were bringing their girlfriends too, which even though Ashton told you it was so that you didn’t feel overwhelmed, it made you feel completely overwhelmed. You glanced into the back seat of the car where all of the grocery bags were piled on top of each other. With a sigh, you shut the car off and hopped out.
As you were grabbing as many bags as you could, you heard Ashton come up behind you. He placed a hand on your back between your shoulder blades. You turned to look at him and he looked into the car. His eyes widened and so did his smile as he started to laugh, “You weren’t kidding when you said you wanted to cook for everyone.” He looked at you and his hazel eyes made your knees feel weak.
You used your free hand to move the stray strand of hair out of your face and you looked at the multiple bags of groceries. “No, I definitely wasn’t kidding. Maybe if they realize I can cook, they’ll have no choice but to like me?” You let out a nervous laugh, and even though it sounded like you were kidding, you weren’t.
Ashton rolled his eyes and reached into your car to start grabbing the rest of the bags. “I’ve told you a thousand times that they’ll like you even if we just ordered a crap ton of pizza.” He stood up and flicked his hair out of his face.
He shut your car door with his hip and turned to you. You sighed and grabbed your key out of your bag and pressed the lock button. The honk sounded, and you put your key back into your bag. “I know that’s what you’ve told me, but that doesn’t mean that’s how I feel or what I want to do. Who wants go over to someone’s house and meet their friend’s girlfriend and be fed pizza?” You ask scrunching your face.
Ashton let out a chuckle and started to make his way up his driveway. As he past you he stopped and pecked a soft kiss to your nose. “Most people, darling.” He perked up and smiled before walking the rest of the way up his driveway and into his house.
The bags clunked as you and Ashton set them down on his counter. As you started to pull everything out of the bags, Ashton walked to the other side and sat down. He placed his elbow on the counter and then his chin in his hand. He watched you as you started to prepare the meal, his eyes never leaving you. You smiled at him as you pulled the last item out of the bag and set it on the counter. The way he looked at you gave you butterflies and made you weak at the knees. You hoisted yourself onto the counter and leaned forward to press a soft kiss to his lips. “Are you just going to watch me while I cook?”
Ashton nodded into his hand and smiled, “I sure am.” Your cheeks felt hot as the blush washed over you. A smile stretched over your lips as you lowered yourself and started pull everything together.
Being the jokester he was, Ashton cracked a joke while you grabbed the seasoning. Since you were laughing at Ashton, you neglected to realize that you had opened the spoon side, and not the sprinkle side. You tilted the bottle and poured. The laughter immediately stopped as you gasped and looked down at the large pile of seasoning sitting on top of the food. You cursed under your breath and frantically started searching for something to start taking the excess seasoning out. Ashton giggled, and you shot him a dirty look, but then smiled and shook your head as you spooned the excess seasoning out and into the sink.
Had you known that that was only the first of many things to go wrong, you would’ve just listened to Ashton and ordered pizza. Not only did you over season the food, but the mixer got flour all over you and the kitchen, the sides nearly burnt as you were cleaning up the flour mess, and you forgot to change the oven temperature once you took dinner out of the oven, so you almost burnt desert to a crisp. You dropped the pan onto the counter with a small amount of smoke coming off the cake and you coughed while Ashton laughed and leaned against the counter. “We don’t have to have desert, if anyone wants desert, I have ice cream in the freezer.”
You placed your hands on the edge of the counter and blew a strand of hair out of your face in frustration. “I just wanted to cook a perfect meal so that your friends will accept me and approve of me, and I basically destroyed the whole thing.” Although you weren’t crying ye, the anger and frustration boiling in your blood was bringing the tears closer and closer to the edge.
“You didn’t ruin the whole thing, just desert.” A shit-eating grin pulled at Ashton’s lips. When you turned to look at him, the smile immediately faded. There was nothing about this that you found funny. You were completely serious, and the thought of crying was becoming much more probable. “Look, darling,” Ashton put his hands on your shoulders and he looked straight into your eyes, “Just because you burnt desert and just barely over cook the vegetables does not mean they aren’t going to approve of you. You could serve them mud and worms and it wouldn’t matter as long as they like you for you.” Ashton tucked a strand of hair behind your ear and looked into your eyes.
The anger and frustration started to simmer down as you nodded and turned your head towards the cake that was still smoking. A laugh finally busted out of your chest and you ran your hand across your forehead, “I promise I’m actually a really good baker.” You said with a laugh while looking back at Ashton.
“I know, why do you think I’m dating you?” You chuckled as Ashton smiled and pulled you into his chest and wrapping his arms around your shoulders. He placed his chin on the top of your head, “You have nothing to worry about, darling, just relax.” With that, you wrapped your arms around his waist and melted into him, feeling every bit of frustration wash away.
