Did you ever think
Sam and Dean are special, and important, to Chuck/God because theyre the sons he’s always wanted? They have so many similarities to Michael and Lucifer, and are polar opposites in so many ways. Both Michael and Lucifer loved their Father. Michael would do anything he asked him to, Lucifer loved him but rebelled because his Father loved something else.... Lucifer hated people so he corrupted them, Michael hates people because they’re corrupt, but Sam and Dean both hate the corruption, not the people. They both even say people are innocent, even when theyre not. Chuck may have looked at his 4 sons and saw that Raphiel was only interested in power, and Gabriel was only interested in sex and partying. But Michael and Lucifer were special. Maybe through them, they could all love people, and love each other, and they’d be happy. But that isnt how it went. So maybe Chuck decided to create his perfect sons in humans. It would take a long time though, creation takes time, love, and patience to really get it right. He would have to start from scratch. Form these 2 wonderful humans from strong bloodlines of strength and intelligence, but most importantly, love. Not just love, but love stong enough that started and ended with each other, and was filled in with the love for others. Maybe, everything that Sam and Dean have been through since birth, was to bring them to where they are now. They know how to love their own father, even though he screwed up, they know how to forgive their mother even though she screwed up, and even though people are crazy, and capable of terrible things, they’re worth saving, because everyone has good in them. They both survived the tortures of Hell but it didnt break them. Theyve both been beaten and murdered by humans, but they dont give up. Theyve both hurt each other deeply on so many levels, ones no one else would forgive the other for, but they have, They love each other that much. According to Swan Song, Michael would have to kill Lucifer, Dads orders... Lucifer didnt want to fight, but if he had to, he would, and would fight to the death. John told Dean he may have to kill Sam, and Dean, who would otherwise do whatever John told him to, said no way. he’d never kill Sam.Sam doesnt want to fight Dean, but he will if he has to, but he’d never fight him to the death. He’d let Dean kill him first.
The Winchester bros arent perfect men, but they’re GOOD men, so good that its easy for us to overlook the bad they do, like stealing cars, credit card fraud, drunkeness, lust, pride, and almost anything you could think of, but their hearts are so pure, and they kill themselves (literally) for the sake of love and whats right. They didnt accept their destiny the way it was written out for them. Sam wouldnt say Yes to Lucifer to “win” he said Yes for love. Dean wouldnt say Yes to Michael to win, but he said Yes out of Love. Sam and Dean have literally better, stronger, and more precious than Archangels. And the kicker is.... they’re humble... too humble, they both think they themselves are crap, but their brother is priceless. They’ve learned that good and bad arent black and white. You have to love to see the shades of grey, and realize no one is perfect and no one is beyond salvation. Maybe Chuck is watching, and smiling, every time Sam and Dean break every rule to save each other, and throw their lives down to save the world,... and he says “This..... this is what I wanted from day one″ This is what i think the Supernatural Big Picture is all about.
