Richard Rorty thx @whereshadowsmakeshadows
So if optimization of society is not realistic what do you think will happen in the near future as technology and automation displaces more and more people socially and economically? Are conflicts just an intractable part of any complex human society? What do you think best case scenario would be for the role of politics to play?
Predicting is very difficult, especially the future. I’m not even sure exactly what happened in the past.
Conflicts just mean different people having different preferences and/or different beliefs, and that seems inevitable as long as we still have different people.
The goal of politics is to resolve conflicts efficiently and without bloodshed.

In Tucson Arizona its like 90 minutes from Phoenix which gets a decent amount of live acts but it doesnt have the kind of alternative/experimental music scene as other cities
I haven’t really even explored the local scene or some of the more experimental acts here. But Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are the 3 main cities for anything art related, so i get quite a bit of major acts. Especially since I’m in one of the largest cities on the northern west coast. being 90 minutes from a different city for a concert would really suck. Sounds like you probably get the same as where I used to live in Edmonton Alberta. not tiny, but not big enough. for music anyway.

damn thats tight! i wanna see him but he seems to only play in really big cities like ny and la or in canada
or in canada would be correct this time. seeing him in Vancouver. I’m so happy i moved here from Alberta. Between here and Toronto we get all the best shows for Canada. Where do you live?
