one of my biggest pet peeves is when people default to he/him pronouns for characters with no clearly defined gender. whether it's the main character of a video game whose gender is determined by the player, or a character who is explicitly genderless, they'll inevitably get he/him'd all over the place. like can we please stop assuming that maleness is the default???
