wish i was more capable of interacting with other people but alas, i remain affected by The Event
We have got to stop framing our oppression in ways that promote the idea that other people cannot relate to our struggles. Not only does it isolate comrades in the struggle, it actively diminishes recognition of other struggles--often including those even more horrific than what we are at risk of. And this happens especially between Gay and Black struggles.
"when have straight people ever had to check what states were safe for them?" Sundown towns are still a thing. Starlight tours. What states have abortion access? What states have open carry? What states have stand your ground? What states have 3-strike rules? Women, people of color, disabled people, immigrants, and more have had to be abundantly cautious where they travel to. Straight trans people have much more travel risk right now than gay cis people.
It's a new iteration of the same tired question: "imagine if straight people weren't allowed to marry" interracial marriage in the US is younger than my parents. We disgrace people of color by forgetting their history and contemporary struggles, and we abandon queer people of color, Black queer people, by segmenting their overlapping fights.
As lovelyshananigans says, "intersectionality, babes"
I remember when Trump was reelected, i talked to a number of friends about my fears about traveling to other states, and how there were wide swaths of the country I was afraid to travel, particularly in the South
A lot of the responses from (mostly white, cis) other people were something along the lines of "Yeah, freedom is dead in this country. This is not freedom."
But that's just been the lived reality of Black people in the United States this entire time
And a lot of Indigenous people, and undocumented people, and the list unfortunately could and does go on
Those friends were right, by the way - this isn't freedom
It's just that freedom has always, always been, in the United States, in large part a matter of whiteness
Cars have three primary tagmata: the anterior engine (responsible for respiration, digestion, and locomotion), the medial body (sensory input and processing), and the posterior trunk (fat storage). More derived taxa such as family Hatchbackidae have fused the two posterior tagmata into a body-trunk region, trading some storage space for greater posterior vision. Curiously, the cars almost universally process sensory input through endosymbiosis with the primate species Homo sapiens, but again, this is variable in more derived taxa.
HiPOD: Periglacial Terrain in Protonilus Mensae
With this observation, the existing periglacial mantle near a previous image can be better constrained across this area. Futher up from this footprint, the terrain appears scoured and the periglacial mantle is discontinous. The extent of this mantle is of high importance, especially because the area is poorly covered by HiRISE imagery. (“Periglacial” relates to an area marginal to a frozen or ice-covered region, like an ice sheet or glacier.)

The best part is OP got fired because their boss asked why they weren’t “incorporating blockchain technology” into the video switcher they were building and OP straight up said “you have no idea what you’re talking about” and went to lunch
i think we should start openly mocking male creatives who can't figure out how to write women. like actually i think it's embarrassing that it took elliot page transitioning for christopher nolan to give him a good role. why did it take like ten years to get the first female lead in a marvel movie? why is it a Known Fact that stephen king can't write women? why is 50% of the population omitted from large ensemble works? i asked my friend to name a movie directed by a man with a majority female cast and he said ghostbusters 2016. ghostbusters. ghostbusters. g

HiPOD: Avalanche Season
Avalanches have been observed at this scarp, which is just north of the another scarp location with such activity. Monitoring this site in the Martian spring is key to constrain the frequency of avalanches and timing of the onset of “avalanche season”. The Context Camera was also requested to “ride-along” this observation for additional coverage and details.

it’s never a normal temperature anymore it’s always some fucking bullshit
I need you young people to know it was almost never this hot when I was a child. Millennials and Gen Xers are all nostalgic and excited about summer because it was about ten to twenty degrees cooler to experience it back then!
I cannot express to you how FAST it has gone. I grew up in a world that does not exist now. We're starting on the path to reverse it, globally. You might not know how much solar has EXPLODED in the last decade or two. It's gone from a side thing, a weirdo novelty that was just Not Viable... to whole countries investing in infrastructure. but we have to keep fighting big oil and fascism everywhere we can in order to keep on this road to a new better less scorching burning earth.
But any time you wonder wtf the weather is doing- THIS IS NOT NORMAL, NO. THIS IS NOT WHAT IT WAS EVEN TWENTY YEARS AGO.
