Mother, naturally, was very excited to hear that there was a new Joe Wright movie (she loves the cinematography in the 2005 PP, though she couldn't possibly care less about Anna Karenina--she wanted to watch it because of Keira Knightley but then chucked it right back to the library when she found out about the Themes). She could also tell immediately after hearing a brief synopsis of the plot that it would be a Crying Movie.
