I had a idea of the Saja Boys being kumihos (Korean fox demons) since they are depicted as often eating or stealing the souls of humans to either gain more power for themselves or even in order to become human themselves.

And, kumihos can be portrayed as selfish/self-centered, but neutral creatures that seduce humans for their own means. Though, there are also texts that depict benevolent kumihos and even stories of them falling in love with a human and thus refraining from eating them.

There is also the fact of kumihos being able to become human if they either refrain from eating humans for a 1,000 years or if they manage to collect and absorb 1,000 human souls.

And there is the presence of life essence beads which are what gives a kumiho their life essence and if used to collect life force (or energy) from humans. And there’s a whole thing of them using a method of “yeowoo guseul” which involves kissing and putting the bead into the mouths of humans and retaking after it absorbs their life essence.
