simon riley is the type of man to drive his problems away. he’s slept more times in his ratty ass pick up truck in side roads, parking lots, you name it.
he never really had a reason to come home. if simon could spend his time driving and enjoying the scenery, he’d rather do that.
until one late night, simon sees someone by the side of the road. his lights illuminated a thumb and a figure.
normally, simon knew better than that.
simon wasn’t the type of person to pick up random people on the road, especially in the dead of night when he’s just driving.
except for this person looked entirely pathetic, looked like they absolutely needed the ride and.. well.
the clicking sound of a blinker, the sound of gravel and tires, and the squeaking of a window being rolled down.
and he sees you at his passenger window. you had that pitiful smile on your face, like how if there was a choice, you absolutely would’ve kept walking.
“allo, i’m sorry to bother you but i uh..” you averted your gaze. “just need a ride to the closest grocery store.”
simon is quiet for a bit. he should hesitate, should probably think twice but.. something about you made him feel.. bad. pitiful.
the man sighs before unlocking his passenger door. “cmon in, luv.” he mumbles.
you smile, hauling your stuff which was.. just your bag really. “thank you, i..” you drifted off and suddenly the smile you had no longer met your eyes. “thank you.”
simon.. almost asks. but he didn’t, instead, putting the car in drive and merging back onto the road.
simon riley tried to drive to get rid of his problems but now, he had specifically picked one up.
what had he gotten himself into?
