As He Himself goes to the Father, He utters this petition aloud, and while yet with the disciples—ταῦτα λαλῶ ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ—that they might recognise that the power of God was engaged for their protection, and might thus have repeated and perfected in themselves the same joy with which Christ had overcome all the trials and fears of life.
