I just realized that Colress doesn't wear anything without sleeves, which got me thinking: what if he wears conservative clothes, not because he wants to, but because of the fact that he's hardly ever outside. It would explain why he even created his Sun/Moon outfit. He's not suited for outdoor study!

Has anyone considered that the reason dragons don’t have huge chests like birds is because they can create their own thermal updrafts? That fire breath could technically be a thermal (hot) breath too.

All they need to do is create enough of a thermal updraft ahead of them and they’re just gliding from one updraft to another. Who needs big chest muscles when all you have to do is glide?

Stories always seem to put them living in mountains or off high cliffs anyway, so they don’t need to expend that much physical energy to take off. And if they’re on the ground, their legs are strong enough to get them high enough to catch a thermal.
