Lando likes to think he can read Oscar pretty well. He's seen the discourse about whether or not his teammate has emotions—"What a load of horseshit, of course he does!" he'd wanted to scream. He wears them on his sleeve, just like Lando, but only if you know where to look. Oscar shows his emotions in his eyebrows. It's in the set of his jaw, the twitch of an eye, the scrunch of his nose. It's all so small and minute, so imperceptible, that you just might miss it if you aren't paying attention. Three years is a long time to be paying attention, though, and Lando likes to look at Oscar. Or, the one where Lando falls in love with Oscar over the course of the 2025 season.

snippets i have shown kellin n meg of my fic that i have been slowly writing at my own pace... they r extremely messy but they're more so for anyone who wants to know what i've been writing!!

i say this all the time but i've genuinely never written smth like this. i don't typically write from lando's pov and i've never done, like, a character study? relationship study? so uh. we will see how this turns out! it's not anywhere near being finished but :)

I just finished "Freckles on your Knees (Following a Whim)" and I’m still floating. It’s genuinely one of the most beautiful Landoscar fics I’ve ever read. The way you wrote their dynamic was just beautiful.

And honestly? I fully agree with what you said about those anons.

I don’t understand how anyone could read that fic and walk away thinking it was anti-Oscar.

The entire thing was soaked in admiration for him, his kindness, his patience, the quiet gravity he has in Lando’s world. Like you said in your notes, it was a love letter, start to finish.

Just wanted to tell you how grateful I am that you wrote it. Stories like that stay with people.

Just read “whim” after seeing the anon earlier today and wanting to know what it was about and I must say, I loved it. It just felt really pretty to me idk how to describe it but kind soft and tender. Loved the way lando loved Oscar, so sweet. I honestly would have read 10k more about them. Don’t let the haters drag you down. It didn’t seem like anti Oscar to me at all, I actually really liked your characterization. xoxo, :)

writing this fucking fic at work and giggling and kicking my feet. i think this is my favorite scene i've ever written. tender is literally the only word i can think of to describe it. i am so excited to finish it!!!!
