There's something symbolic about writing story about women through a man's eyes, forcing the women to be invisible until its too late

Film analysis below

its so interesting because in centring Haider in a story about misogyny we simultaneously see how the patriarchy cuts everyone, and lose Mumtaz and Biba's true stories until later into the movie

There's this delicious switch from Haider's relationships to Mumtaz's relationships at one point. We finally learn about Mumtaz because we've been given the room to realise that Haider was never the main character. But I don't think we see Mumtaz fully till after she is gone - essentially freeing herself from the patriarchal narrative constraints. Also because Haider lets go of controlling her narrative - something he hasn't done for Biba yet (so her story is subtextual and fragmented)

I think this movie needs a sequel where Biba is freed from Haider's perspective the same way that Mumtaz is
