@whiskeyflown gets a semi-plotted starter!
Another Council meeting, and another afternoon where all James wanted to do was punch the rich, entitled idiots who he had to call his ‘peers.’ He didn’t have to say anything for Winter to peel off and leave him to the quiet privacy of his office. The room was large and quiet, and he shut his eyes as he stepped inside. He spent more time here than in his attached apartment...hell, he spent more time in the personal gym than he did his apartment.
Idly, the general tugged at the sleeves of his overcoat, before opening his eyes. Right, then. He had some work to get done before this evening...including some more academic work. Better if he get a start on it now. As he crossed the office’s floor, however, the door chimed, and James paused with his foot on the first stair.
“Come in. The door’s open,” he called, folding his hands neatly at the small of his back as he waited for his guest.
