Inspired by the "give me 6 clangen cats to draw" but I wanted to do my favorite duos and the ability to choose them :33 This took me about 4 hours? Over the course of a week.

Cedarheart (left) and Pansybloom (right) (Top right) of @splinterclan! I actually wanted to do Moorsnow and Whorlstar because ARRGHHH I love them so much its diabolical. Maybe another time? Anyway, Cedarheart and Pansybloom are sibling goals. In the picture, the timeframe is before either of their kits were born. (Queen Bess is seen aswell) Im also really proud of Cedar's expression. Sorry yap sesh over lols.

Kestrelfrost is such a sweetheart omggg. Also, Hawkcry's guilt over Kestrel's accident but Kestrelfrost not blaming her makes me

It was only a matter of time before I joined this trend. I absolutely love how many Clangen blogs have sprung up, each with unique stories, characters that rip my heart out, and art I can and will stare at for ages. Here are six I particularly enjoy. (Specifics under the cut.)
Cats, in order:
Partridgechaser from @whispering-clan -- I'm super interested to see what a connection to the Dark Forest means in this context (where the good vs. bad associations of StarClan and the Dark Forest are blurred). I had the hardest time choosing who to draw from this Clan of all the blogs, but ultimately her DF association and cool design made me want to draw her!
Brackenshine from @glitterclan -- she's been through so much and deserves a break, but I feel like prophecy cats don't have much luck with that. I'm interested in seeing how she and her siblings interpret StarClan's message, and what they'll do next!
Dropletsplash from @splinterclan -- I love this story so much, especially seeing the unique relationships every member of SplinterClan has with each other. I often overlook Droplet in favor of the kits or their parents, but she deserves everything and is trying so hard. Congrats on the apprentice!
Petuniapaw from @clansofafeather -- I wish for their sake they had a better family, but I love a character who tries to be a good person (...or cat) despite being dealt a bad hand. I loved seeing them bond with Amber and the kits, and seeing them be so protective of them despite just being an apprentice. (This is technically not a Clangen blog but the artist/writer has done several of those too!)
Honeypaw from @the-exiled-comic -- technically not a Clangen comic, but I wanted to include someone from this one anyways! I love Honeypaw for his design, enthusiasm, and kindness, and I've enjoyed seeing more of him in the recent chapters.
Wildfirecry from @loudclan-clangen -- the last few updates have been rough, but I absolutely love the character moments and seeing Wildfire get his revenge. Such a cool artstyle, too! Please get out of the crude oil

Disclaimer that cat genetics are a small hobby for me and it’s been a while since the initial fixation so apologies if I got anything wrong!
Here is the genetics I landed on under the cut. It’s Really long I talk a lot <3 I was gonna draw them but didn’t end up having energy to so you just get words
I’d recommend watching this series to familiarize yourself with cat genetics if you aren’t already, because I’m jumping in and not really prioritizing explaining the specifics, and they explain it in a better way than I ever could (because they are. A Biologist. And I am Not)
I’d also recommend pulling up the whisperingclan family tree to follow along
Branch One - Silkbranch, Bramblespeck, Breezerush, Nightflick, Tunnelheart, Tanglefern, and Duckpaw
Okay so initial notes that in the tree overall there are a few Mystery Parents that I couldn’t find any information on, and a few cats with headshots I couldn’t find the genders of, so in both cases I gave them two X chromosomes for convenience. I also use they/them for every cat I’m unsure of the gender of
I made Silkbranch and Mystery Parent 1 both torties, so that they could have both fully black based and fully red based kits. Silkbranch is lilac (dilute chocolate) and cream, because they were pretty close to her headshot colors. She’s also a tabby, has no white, and has short fur
Bramblespeck is a chocolate tabby, but she’s not dilute, so MP1 needs to be saturated too. She can get the tabby and short fur from Silk, but she needs white too, so we’ll say MP1 has white on them
Breezerush is a black tabby, which means MP1 needs to be black too, since Silk couldn’t carry it bc it would be dominant over their chocolate. They don’t have white, so MP1 needs 50% or less white to get a W to Night, and both parents need to be carrying the recessive long fur gene. Tabby and saturation get there the same way as they did for Bramble
Nightflick and Tunnelheart follow the same too!
Tanglefern finally gets to make use of their parents being torties and is fully red. They get MP1’s non-dilutedness, and no white and long fur the same as their siblings. We don’t know if they got the tabby gene because since they’re orange, it overrides that and makes them tabby anyways, if they had it or not
This means MP1 needs to be a black and red tortie, and has medium or low white spotting
Circling back around to Duckpaw, she’s a blue ticked tabby, so I made Mystery Parent 2 fully black based like Bramble for convenience, though they could be a tortie. Duck takes a dilute from both parents, so Bramble needs to be carrying. And she uses that dilute on her black that she gets from MP2, who I’m also giving a ticked gene that she can take. I gave MP2 low-mid white spotting as well, just for ease, and Duck can take an S and a W from both of them and get her own low white spotting. She gets short fur from Bramble
MP2 is black, but could be blue with dilution, has low to mid white spotting, and is ticked. They could also be a tortie ig if you’re feeling wild and silly about it
Branch Two - Silverclaw, Celestegaze, Teddybear, Tallstem, Darkheart, Weedpatch, Rattlepaw, and Jaggedheart
This is the first branch where we have to change some phenotypes. I started with Celeste and Tall, to make sure they could reasonably be from the same litter. They’re both fully red and no black, Celeste is dilute to make her cream, but Tall isn’t so she can stay nice and orange, though she would have to be carrying dilution under that. We don’t know if either of them are tabbies, like Tangle, bc they’re red. Tall has short fur but is carrying long, and Celeste has long. I kept Tall a colorpoint, but gave her additional low white spotting on top of that because of her tail tip, and also, she couldn’t not have any other white since Celeste has high white. This means Celeste is carrying the gene for colorpoint also
Silverclaw is solid blue with low white spotting and short fur. He’s really simple for us
Darkheart is solid black with short fur. They’re also really simple for us
Teddybear’s a chocolate tabby, medium to low white, and long fur. She’s also also really simple
Weed takes his mom’s dilute red, short fur from dad, and a combined high white from both of them
Rattle can’t not be a tortie, but I tried to make her the closest combination to her current fur color. Celeste is carrying cinnamon under her red, and Teddy is carrying it under her chocolate, as well as a dilution. Both pass down to Rattle, who dilutes it into fawn and cream, which are pretty close in color already. She has medium to low white, and she must have long fur because both her moms do
Jagged also can’t not be a tortie, but I pulled exactly the same trick twice. Tall and Dark are carrying cinnamon and a dilution each, they get passed down, she’s a fawn cream tortie, and she can take short fur from either of them, and takes a combined no white spotting
Branch Three - Little Bird, Butterflyfreckle, Heronkit, Gullpaw, and Partridgechaser
This one’s pretty easy! I made Bird a tortie, and kept their short fur and medium-low white. Butterfly is a solid blue tabby, low white, and long fur
Heronkit takes a black from either of them, dilutes it (so Bird’s gotta be carrying that too) into blue, takes a combined low white spotting, and short fur from Bird. He’s not a tabby so Butterfly needs to be carrying for a not tabby gene
Gullpaw takes everything the same way, except he also takes the tabby from Butterfly
Partridge has to be tortie, she takes black and tabby from Butterfly, low white from both, and short fur from Bird
Branch Four - Flowermoon, Prariebird, Petuniastar, Bloom, Pebbles, Twigkit, Poppykit, Mossleaf, Sunmane, Oakkit, Hickorypaw, Chivepaw, and Comfreypaw
Flowermoon is a chocolate tabby with medium white and long fur
Bloom and Pebbles I made torties, Bloom is cinnamon and ginger and Pebbles is tabby blue and cream. Bloom has mid-low white, and both have long fur
Petunia I had a lot of trouble deciding on a color for, but I just ended up going with cinnamon. He’s a tabby, and needs to have at least low white spotting for later. Long fur again too
Palebird is lilac with high white, and short fur
Twigkit I decided was a sepia because of their little mask, so both Pale and Petunia are carrying that! They’re also lilac from mom, and a tabby from dad. Poppy is cinnamon, so Pale is carrying that too. Both of them need to have mid-low white
Moss is a chocolate tabby (but needs to be carrying cinnamon and dilute), and has high white spotting and long fur (so Pale is carrying that too). I also let her carry the sepia gene for funsies, even though she could have just both C’s
Sun is a cinnamon/ginger tortie like Bloom, she gets tabby from Pebbles, long fur from both, and needs to have mid-low white
Oakkit gets chocolate from Moss and tabby from either, and he needs to have mid-low white and long fur (as all of the sunmoss kits will). Hickory does the same process
Chive takes red from Sun, and dilutes it to cream, so both of them need to be carrying d. He gets high white and short fur
Comfrey takes cinnamon that both are carrying, and dilutes it into fawn. She was another one I had trouble coloring, but I think fawn is closest. She gets tabby, high white, and long fur as well
Branch Five - Larkclaw, Pitchstar, Halfcliff, Batfreeze, Ravenblur, Tempeststar, Blizzardchase, Mousespots, Rainblight, Hailstripe, Sleeteong, Snowfrost, and Peakkit
Lark is a tortie with short fur, and that’s about all we need on her rn, but we’ll come back and add some stuff she’s carrying
Pitch and Raven are both solid black short furred, I said Raven is a ghost tabby, but I forget what’s needed for that. If he needs agouti/inhibitor/etc, we can just say it’s from Mystery Parent 5, and Pitch is carrying if needed. Half is solid black short fur too, and they get mid-low white from MP4. Bat is a blue tabby with mid-low white, and long fur
Tempest is solid black, with high white spotting and short fur. She gets her second S for white from MP6, since Half can only give one
Now for Blizzard we’re pulling a Pro Gamer Move, and making her white dominant. Sorry to her blue tabby tail we would not be able to have any kits without high white if she had it instead of white dominant. Now she can have Anything under that white, which is very convenient for me <3 We’ll say she got it from MP7, and she has long fur, so MP7 carries that too
Before we get to the kits, Mouse is a chocolate tabby, we’ll say MP7 is carrying black base so they can get both full, they can get tabby from Bat, an S from Bat and we’ll say a W from MP7, and short fur from MP7 too
Rain could be a normal blue tabby if you’re a coward (/silly), but I think she should be a tortie bc she has those little creamy spots by her legs and belly and muzzle. So we can say Blizzard is a tortie under her white and Rain gets red from her, and both parents can be carrying a dilute that she uses. She gets low white, and short fur
Now I’ve laid my machinations here for Hail. She’s silver! Which means she needs inhibitor, which Blizzard can have under her white, and could have gotten it from MP7 under their white too. Other than that, she’s black, tabby, and has mid white and long fur
Sleet I decided to make lilac, to keep her pinkey purpley hue she’s got going on. We can say Blizzard’s carrying chocolate, and Tempest’s either got chocolate or cinnamon under her black. She dilutes it like Rain, takes low white because she has to, and gets long fur
Snow I made ticked, to fit with the little tabby markings she’s got by her eyes, but since she’s largely the same black color everywhere without stripes. Again, Blizzard can be ticked under her white, and she can get it from MP7. She gets S/W like the rest of her siblings, which probably means she gets a little less white than she currently has. Unless she becomes white dominant like Blizzard. And she gets short fur from Tempest
Peak I decided to make a smoke! I wasn’t sure what to make of his gray And black thing he’s got going on, but we already had it set up to give Hail inhibitor, so we can do the same thing to him and give him smoke. And after that he’s black, mid white, and short fur
Bonus - Frostfleck, Creekslip, Whiskers, Skipspot, Hoptoe, and Wisp
Frost is a blue tabby, Creek is a black tabby, Whiskers is an orange tabby with low white, Skip is a cinnamon minkpoint, Hop is a black smoke, and Wisp is a chocolate sepiapoint!
Been keeping an eye on the @whispering-clan blog a tad. Kind of inspired me to redo LostClan ngl. But also inspired me to try and make some puppy sprites.
